We had a very painful experience with Hunters South Manchester. A week before our termination date we were offered early settlement as long as we kept our experience confidential and did not write a bad review. We were shouted and sworn at on a number of occasions over the phone by the franchise owner Alan who used his mobile phone (not recorded) and suffered a number of confrontational face to face meetings. We received harassing phone calls after formally providing 21 days to terminate our agreement which included demands for pay-outs of our contract but Alan refused to put this in writing and sent contradictory and confusing follow e-mails after each intimidating call. The quality of our advert was poor. John Ashton spent a considerable amount of time taking photos before we realised he just was not capable of taking a decent photo. He took a video which we asked him not to narrate over having reviewed the video’s he had done for other listings but you could still hear him breathing loudly into the camera. We did not approve the upload of this video but it was uploaded anyway. Thankfully we were able to remove the Rightmove listing ourselves but unfortunately Zoopla needed the Estate Agents approval which they gave 2 days before the end of our contract. The advert also contained countless grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, rooms wrongly labelled and the floor plan was never correct despite copious attempts by John. We were led to believe for the first 2 weeks (incidentally the period in which you can terminate immediately) that our only viewer was imminently going to make us an offer. It turned out that the viewers had not yet sold their own house which we found out after we were forward the e-mail chain between the viewer and Hunters. We were lied to and insulted on countless occasions by the Alan. We would discourage anyone from using this branch and would give it negative stars if we could.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
