From the perspective of a prospective tenant, this business lacks professionalism and transparency. Very disappointing experience, we will avoid looking at properties managed by Obbard and/or Charles Hudson in future and we urge you to do the same. Happy to give you more details to ensure you don't waste your time like we did.

7 Jul 2020Hi Yulia, happy to help you avoid my experience! Basically, got a call from Obbard saying our offer for an apartment was accepted. Following that, we kept asking the agent to send us the paperwork to sign (including calling him multiple times). He kept reassuring us through email that he would send us the paperwork ASAP, but that he was busy (with other customers, “having dinners” at non-dinner times etc). In essence, he kept buying time and leading us on: to the extent that (i) we removed an offer we had made for another apartment, (ii) we traveled to visit Obbard’s apartment a second time (took pictures and measurements to buy furniture in advance of our imminent move in). Finally, and many hours later, we received a cold email notifying us that Obbard had chosen to proceed with someone else’s offer with no explanation/justification/apology. I must say that I am also surprised by Hugh’s sudden willingness to communicate since he did not even reply to the one email I sent him explaining what had happened.
