I placed my 2-bedroom apartment back in June (the best time for letting apartments due to the students looking for lets) with Sheffield Residential. I chose them due to their high rating and they specialise in City Loft Apartment Block. They produce a monthly newsletter for the leaseholders. I met Jordon and we visited my apartment. The sales talk was second to none, I was rather unimpressed. I was promised the earth from Jordon who sometimes classed himself as the manager but whenever a difficult question was posed he was not in charge of making that decision. He came up with a monthly rental which I was happy with and promised it would fly off the market. He promised every Thursday I would receive a comprehensive report of the viewings and progress. As the property was empty I requested that after the photos were completed he made sure all the lights were off and the property secured. I was overseas working the days after the pictures were taken but they cracked on and advertised it (not on the full comprehensive sites I was promised but, on their website, and one other free website). This to me was not extensive advertising as Jordon promised. On my return I thought I would check the apartment and I found Jordon had left the lights on and the balcony door open. The USB of my apartment is the unique view of the winter gardens and a corner apartment so I was shocked to see on the opening page of the advert a picture of a 50 pound table and chairs. Really I would expect a primary school pupil to run a better advert, especially as it was discussed so much on the initial visit. Jordon, in my opinion, is also far from professional as he spent quite a bit of time bad mouthing another landlord who failed to reduce their price on their apartment in City Loft. I gave Jordon and Sheffield Residential just under 4 weeks before I was so disgusted by their service that I pulled the property from them. In that time they took no viewings. I received no answers to my questions even after asking 3 separate times. I received no comprehensive review on any of the Thursdays as Jordon promised. I only received two emails suggesting we reduced the price. Jordon and his staff are completely out of touch if they don’t know the going rate for a complex they specialise in. I ceased my contract with Jordon and when straight to Alex at The Letting Rooms. After I signed her contract she had found a tenant within 2 hours of signing before it had even been advertised, at the rate I wanted. Alex has a list of tenants looking for apartments. Her team is professional and she completed everything without having to be chased. I would suggest Jordon and his team take a leaf out of Alex’s book on how to run your business.
