If anyone is thinking of renting a house that the Dalgety Bay office will be in any way involved with – my advice is simple: Don't to it. I thought the days when estate agents would willfully mislead, or just tell outright days were over – but this office, from the Branch Manager down are happy to do it by the bucket load. We rented a house that was managed by them, it was dirty on move in and repairs were never done. They make statements to secure leases, or renewals that they know are not true, or that have no intention of honoring – then they threaten you with the contact at every opportunity when you call them on it. Also, s we were moving out I watched the agents go out of their way to mislead perspective follow on tenants when showing them round – even to the point of telling outright lies about the property. Even when I spoke to agent, he knew what he had done and just didn't care. Having been lied to, and suffered their terrible customer service, observed it happening to others and read the complaints from so many people about the company – it seems this is just the way they choose to operate. Anything for the commission in a bad market is one way to look them, a bunch of scumbags that you are better of avoiding is another!
best advise - close this out of control office down.

26 Oct 2012In completeness - I will add that a number of my issues have been with YourMoves back office functions (AKA Bathgate lettings) rather than the front office staff. However, to me, yourmove is yourmove - and the front office staff pointing to the back-end being the cause of the problem is no real excuse for how poor the company are overall, At the end of it , the customer gets the shaft while the elements of YM point fingers at each other and say it was someone else s fault - while not addressing how bad it makes the company look overall. Hence, my advice to avoid this shambolic company stands..

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
