Rented an ex-council flat from Alistair Smith who owns the whole block. The flats were one bedroom and slightly overpriced for the area, otherwise they seemed okay. A weird and inappropriate couple were employed as 'cleaners' for the block in one flat... the female actually came to my door asking for money several times. Pretty poor management to actually employ people who hassle your tenants!! Aside from that, other issues included - Significant mould problem after a few months, when it grew through the anti-mould paint.... in corners, on walls and even in the wardrobe, so our clothes in the wardrobe were affected. - Hot water - there was never enough for a bath only a shower! - The flats only had night storage heaters which are not powerful enough by far in the winter, so we were usually cold. - Washing machines were in a communal room. When they were being replaced (by card operated ones!) Mr Smith was quite happy to leave all his tenants with no working machine for around two weeks. Forced to use a launderette for uniforms, his replies to emails about this were patronising and arrogant and of course, we were never given any money back. We were charged a ridiculous £100 for 'the garden' (about 15 ft square) on check out.
