I was selling and buying via McCarthy Holden and they continued taking prospective buyers to the house we had agreed and shaken on with the Vendor..... suffice to say they then sold it to another couple..... so we withdrew our house from McCarthy.... ...as always Paul Phelan * - in our opinion we wouldn't trust him again.

13 Jun 2018We have had 2 very bad experiences with this agent. Firstly, we saw and made an offer on a property which had a lower offer on it. The sellers seemed lovely and were open to wait for us to sell. Even though our offer was higher than what the other buyer had offered. The agent told us that the seller didn't care about the higher offer as were were not in a proceddable position. We don't think the agent look out for th seller or the buyer interest. They are untrustworthy, based from our experience we wouldn't recommend to any buyer! They will make you feel like you don't matter and will try and pressure you to use their recommended (ie they are paid to recommend) solicitors, Surveyors, Conveyance and financial advisor. They will tell you that you are NOT forced to use them. But they will tell you that if you don't use their recommended services that you would get penalise for going with your own conveyance, surveyors, etc. You will not get a tick! From my two experiences, I wouldn't use them.
