I applied for a house paid the fees and waited for over a week. Then saw the said house had let on it through the internet. So I rang up and they said oh the landlord must have put that up, I'll get back to you when I've looked at all your application. So I waited a few days only to be told that someone else with a better application has got it. Now I want a refund and they said they would issue me one, They don't respond to my emails anymore asking about the refund. I've waited another almost week, frustrated I rang them to be told the refund will be in on Friday. Why couldn't they respond to my emails enquiring about it? This company isn't about first come first served, Its about who is the landlords favourite. Being messed around is an understatement!

A bit steep, though not out of the ordinary. I do not agree with the fact they let more than one applicant apply and pay the fee without a refund if unsuccessful for reasons which do not relate to them.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
