Our experience: As soon as Martin & Co cash in the fees of £400 (seemingly most expensive in town!), they seem to be done with any service for their tenants. When we moved in, the washing machine was covered in mould and when we went to their office to show them the pictures we had taken, Rani Grieve - the director - crossed her arms, saying, "No, I don't need to see the pictures. Just give it a wipe." Well, the mould could NOT be removed with just a wipe but settled on our clothes when using the machine. On the second day of our tenancy, we told Martin & Co (and our landlady) that our window was broken - rain coming in. It took 3.5 months until it was finally sealed! Half a month after that, we were served with section 21, and we feel this was done in retaliation with regard to us pushing for the window to be fixed and our frustration over the ongoing issue. Martin & Co (plus landlord) seem to have no qualms. The agency took £400 in fees, before our tenancy was shortened by 6 months because we didn't keep quiet over rain coming in. Now, they will even come around tomorrow with viewers for a new tenancy, so that the landlord doesn't get penalised, they said - WHAT? Who has been penalised in all this?? This agency will be even keen, in our opinion, to have a high turnover of tenants, so they can cash in expensive fees from the new people again and again.
