We purchased a property through Rea Estates, and on the date of going through to completion we had a series of awkward questions that we needed quick answers to for our home insurance. Upon calling with the first question, we were told by Andrea to call back should we have any other questions. When I tried to call back, I was greeted by William Rea, I explained the predicament, asking to speak to a member of staff familiar with our purchase. Rather than simply assuring me that the respective member of staff would call me back, he made the situation extremely difficult, and spoke to me appallingly. He raised his voice, cut me off mid-sentence, and when I asked if I they could organise the sending of Mrs Wade's contact number (of course assuming her consent to do so), he attempted to patronise me with rhyming off GDPR guidelines. I have never been spoken to in such a disgusting manner, in neither a customer service nor personal scenario. Unfortunately our purchase is going through this Estate Agents, and perhaps because we are now at the stage of completion, William Rea felt no obligation to maintain even the basic standards of customer service. I can assure you of one thing; under no circumstance would we have dealings with this business again.

I work for an estate agency located in Belfast, Northern Ireland which unfortunately shares the same name and this Bishop Auckland agency. I would greatly appreciate if you could delete this review. 10 Jul 2019I believe this to be a deliberate attempt to dis- credit Rea Estates by a competitor or someone with an agenda as this incident never occurred. Rea Estates have had nothing but praise from our customers.

13 Dec 2020Unfortunately we get reviews from people who come to us wanting to rent a house and although we try to help the rules are if they don’t work they need someone who can guarantee their rent. This is common practice but some people think it’s fair game to ridicule us for this. If you owned the property you would expect us to have a guarantee that the rent would be paid.

20 Mar 2021I have tried to find out who left this review; it is the first bad review I remember . I cannot find out who it was . I refuse to believe this review as anything only an attempt to discredit Rea Estates by another rival .

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
