I rented an expensive house from Savills in Tunbridge Wells. There were a number of maintenance issues that they ignored and simply refused to deal with. We only heard from them when they wanted fees for renewal, and at the moment they are holding back a deposit of over nearly £4000 for a small fee they are claiming. When we gave notice to move they did viewings at times we specifically asked them not too, including when our teenage daughter was there alone. The agent had zero charm and left a family member quite upset. If you rent from them don't be in any doubt that they act only for the landlord and no matter what you pay in rent, you will not get anything like customer service. Any other business would quickly wither away if it treated the paying customers the way it treats its tenants.
Too high, unfair and soon to be made illegal by new legislation.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
