Beware the lettings agent of Jesmond. Mansons are an exceptional outfit who I can't recommend highly enough. The flats they offer have been inspected (not every agent does this) and you pay market rent. They are properly cleaned and of an acceptable living standard. The staff are very professional and helpful, Alexi and Kirstie were excellent throughout. Proper checks are carried out and you can be sure any property is suitable for habitation (this was not the case with another lettings agent situated above another estate agents in Jesmond next to the post office.) If you're a student do not be palmed off with substandard accommodation. None of the Jesmond rents are cheap. If you want to use a good agent in my experience Mansons were the best, followed by Acorn and Pat Robson. And don't be rushed into thinking you have to find somewhere in November for the following academic year.
Expensive but peace of mind is worth it. We ended up spending more with another agent having to move in then out of a flat, then find a new one.
