Countrywide's MO is to take over small high street companies and then masquerade under what appears to be a local name. Countrywide took over a small independent letting agent in Amesbury and the name to Austin Wyatt. All of the experienced, knowledgeable staff either left or were sacked, being replaced by a succession of gobby spivs. Maintenance charges suddenly increased as Countrywide insist that contractors add a hidden premium in their bills which is passed direct to Countrywide. A succession of new charges suddenly appeared; money was taken from rental income to be set against repairs that never happened, tenants requests were left unanswered, simple maint jobs were grossly inflated (over £150 estimate to reconnect a loose wire in a light) . Having been a landlord for over 30 years, this lot are by far the worst I have ever seen. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

High, and extensive. Some are hidden (eg premiums added to maint bills paid to them directly by the contractor). And even a simple renewal ix overcharged.

Disgusting company branch run by an incompetent manager. The reviews for this company speak for themselves. The staff are rude, do not return calls, ignore emails and are never in the office, probably out of fear from having to deal with angry tenants and landlords. They like to rake more money...
