Communication has been very poor since the very beginning of my time with O' Connor Bowden. Initially, there was a mix up with setting up an appointment for a viewing. The people I spoke with over the weekend gave me an appointment but they did not communicate this with those who work during the week. Fast forward to now-where I have put a deposit on a place and the day before move in (after me sending emails for the contract and other such documents) I am told that I cannot move in to the place as they are still cleaning and yet for months they knew that we had agreed to move in on this date. Demi was completely dismissive and showed no understanding that I have been greatly inconvenienced as I have no where to stay now as I thought I would be moving in tomorrow. I do not think anyone was going to update me on the move had I not persistently contacted them.

11 Aug 2018Thank you for taking time to review our services, it is positive to hear that you feel our fees are reasonable. We consistently review our fees to ensure they are lower than other City Centre Agents in Manchester and to offer you value for money. I am however naturally disappointed that you understand your experience to be of negative nature concerning the application and move-in processes. O'Connor Bowden, make clear prior to taking a holding deposit that the move-in date remains a provisional date, until such time our Property Management Team confirm otherwise. I refer to the clause in our Terms & Conditions signed at the time of placing a deposit. The Applicants(s) understand that any occupation dates discussed are provisional and remain so until the actual date the Tenancy Agreement has been signed and the Tenancy has commenced. Applicants are advised not to make any moving arrangements until such time the Tenancy has commenced. This is to ensure that we are possession of the property from the previous tenants, conduct a check out inspection and have time to prepare the property maintenance and cleaning wise for your occupation. On the provisional date for move-in, you alerted me by Telephone of your issues and I immediately looked at our contractor's diary and was able to instruct contractors to honour your provisional move-in date. However and due to the co-tenant being abroad, we were unable to get all required documentation signed to legally commence the Tenancy. We offer a number of options, to address this issue and were successful in obtaining all relevant documentation on the Monday, 30th July 2018 and we immediately released keys. I am sorry that you feel that our communication was not as you expected, having reviewed the terms and conditions signed and subsequent emails sent to you and the co-tenant, it is made very clear the move-in date is provisional. Demi, is highly trained member of our team and at no time would her intention of been to come across as dismissive, if you felt this way, I sincerely apologise. You have direct contact with me at the office, as the senior member of the Team who oversees the running of our Manchester City Centre operations. I will of course continue to monitor your Tenancy and if you have any queries, please contact me.
