Would not recommend. Kept the house tidy all year, fully completed their ridiculously long list of cleaning tasks before checking out, as well as hiring a professional cleaner - and they still took money out of the deposit saying the house wasn't clean enough. When trying to find out why so expensive for what should have been very little cleaning, we were given vague answers like "price reflects how long the cleaning took". "Check-out" inventory report incredibly more detailed than the "check-in", commenting on every little mark and smudge that was already on furniture and walls from the beginning. Pictures are very low quality so you can barely see anything - would recommend taking your own at the beginning of tenancy. Pushed us to renew tenancy 8 months before the end of our contract. As students, very difficult to decide that soon. Gave some friends only 5 days to find two replacement housemates (which of course they couldn't, so had to leave). Beware of the extremely long list of tasks to complete before checking out, including things like washing mattress protectors (which were subsequently thrown away by them anyway). Overall really thrilled we spent so much time keeping the house in good condition, only to be charged unfairly anyway.

10 Oct 2017We are disappointed to hear your thoughts and give our comments in response. Your deposit was protected by the TDS, we cannot deduct payment from it without your approval which you confirmed to us by email. You had the right to raise a dispute via the TDS had you disagreed with the proposed deductions but chose not to do so. The inventory and check out reports are carried out by an independent inventory clerk. You received your inventory on the tenancy start date and signed the return comments form agreeing to the condition detailed within. Your checkout was carried out using the inventory provided which detailed in writing any dilapidations in the column headed ‘Condition at check in'. The checkout comments were marked in red in the column if different to the check in column. As mentioned above, had you disagreed with this you had the option to raise a dispute via the TDS but chose not to. We wrote to you in December 2016 asking if you would like to renew your tenancy in January 2017 as detailed in your tenancy agreement which you all signed. In January 2017 you wrote to us saying - Thank you for your email. After discussion with the group, we have decided not to renew the tenancy for ***********. We are therefore happy for CPL to advertise the property and carry out viewings. We are still looking to rent in Cambridge for the next academic year and we were wondering if it might be possible for you to advise us if there is property that might be suitable, when CPL is aware of which properties will be advertised? We are a group of 5 or 6 students, hoping to find a house or houses closer to Addenbrookes hospital (within a mile or so)." You decided to look for a larger property to accommodate a group of five or six rather than the four of you closer to Addenbrookes. We do not know who the friends are that you refer to and cannot comment without more information. We trust the above explains why we believe we acted fairly at all times.

14 Sept 2018They did exactly the same to me and used a highly suspicious company to do the work and given the prices they charged, I am surprised this cleaning company is still in business. I would NOT recommend this letting agency at all ever.

Awful experience living next to one of their so called managed properties. Being threatened by their tenants and families after I complained about their awful tenants. Police involved regularly and still this agency did not want to know. Absolutely no regard for people living nearby to their ... Read Full Review

I have the misfortune of living next door to a house "managed" by Cambridge Property Lettings. The pavement in front of the house and footpath to the side of the house is often blocked by bins and dumped rubbish, both by the tenants of the house and by people hired by Cambridge Property ... I live next to a property managed by Cambridge Lettings and from my observations they behave like slum lords. And the tenants they find are unpleasant, leaving lots of rubbish in public spaces and with lots of unsavoury guests around on a regular basis. It's a disgrace that Cambridge Lettings ... I stayed with CPL for 2.5 years from beginning of 2017 to the middle of 2019 and I'm fully satisfied with this agency. The contract opening fee was fair and modest compared to other agencies, the procedure of vacating the property went easy as well. I left some minor damage to the property, ... Read Full Review

Terrible experience with this agency, as we had requested a one-month notice period on our lease, only to be informed that we would still be held to the full term. They then had us pay 500GBP to put the property on the market to find another renter, and it took more than a dozen visits. After ... Read Full Review
