Location Estate Agents (Gloucestershire)

We viewed a house to rent with Location estate agents. The house was a normal home in that the kitchen had a cooker, fridge, and other white goods and the bedrooms and bathroom etc had curtains fitted. Fast forward to moving in day, when we discovered that none of these items were in fact in evidence. No white goods in the kitchen whatsoever, no curtains anywhere in the house. The house looked as though it had been stripped ready for redecorating. At no point during the entire marketing process did it occur to Location to mention that this would be the case. Instead, Location have doggedly maintained that to rent a house in an uninhabitable state is, in fact, normal. The fact that this is so outrageous a fiction is actually not the problem. The problem is that Location have utterly failed in the duty of care which befalls them to ensure that as clients, we understood what it was we were buying. Not to do so amounts to blatant mis-selling by way of gross negligence. Location have so far not admitted any wrongdoing and continue to maintain that they have acted correctly and properly. Had we known beforehand that we were renting an uninhabitable home, we would have run, not walked, away.
