Poor communication, sloppy administration and poor background checks delayed and caused unnecessary stress when selling my late Father's property. I booked the initial valuation and signed the agreement (as sole executor of the will) yet, they placed all communication in my sister's name. Quite distressing, as they titled her Mrs rather than Miss, it appeared to be addressed to our late Mother. Informed them of this mistake they never corrected this and even sent me a notification of the completion of sale, again apparently to my deceased mother! Told of offer with the words they are in a strong position as they have sold their property, what they failed to mention was that they did not have a mortgage in agreement. 4 weeks after accepting the offer, I had not heard anything from Bentons, and only found this out after chasing them. Asked Bentons to market the property until the buyers had instructed a survey, yet suddenly all viewings stopped? In the meantime another house on the street went SSTC with Bentons, yet our property was only 8% higher in guide price and had a extra bedroom, conservatory and large garden. If the agent had been marketing correctly, we should have had viewings at the same time as this? I am currently selling my own property with another agent and the difference is amazing, they refused to mark the property as SSTC until they had done all the background checks, even booked in potential appointments after offer was accepted, and have been very communicative, providing feedback and information without me having to prompt them. They also charge 0.25% less commission for a far better service.
Expensive compared to other agents. Paying a premium does not get you premium marketing and service.

Expensive compared to other agents. Paying a premium does not get you premium marketing and service.
Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
