Shocking, as we were first time buyers I think Abdul felt we were easy meat. Firstly he informed me that my offer would be looked at more favourably if I used their Mortgage adviser and solicitor. When i enquired with their mortgage adviser, he offered me a rate, when i asked for written confirmation of the rate he said ' I cant put the rate in an email because the market is susceptible to fluctuations so it may change'. When I raised this with the agent they informed me this is standard practice. After doing a simple google search i found out that this practice goes against regulations. From that point onward I demanded that they communicate with me via email only. They were very unhappy about this but agreed in the end. Then later in the process they called me to say that the buyer had been in to their office threatening to pull out of the process because the mortgage offer letter was taking too long. I rushed around trying to obtain what they needed (which took me out of my day) When I dug a little deeper our solicitor was still waiting on information from the seller!!! I highly doubt that this conversation between the seller and the agent actually took place. If you can avoid them I would, hopefully this review will put an end to their highly dubious practices.

What agent could do to change your mind?
He could have stopped pushing us to meet their mortgage brokers and accepted that we had made our mind up to use our bank. He should not have tried to make our meeting with their brokers out to be anything else then a business move. We had absolutely all our papers in order also the bank called them to answer any questions. Don\'t tell me that is not financial approval enough to present the vendor. Very aggressive and arrogant behavior. He should defiantly work on his people skills and be clear about the intentions he got.
