Not one to write reviews or complain but would like to purposely go out of my way to make people aware of how shocking and corrupt these people are... I rang on a property within 10 minutes of being advertised and arranged a viewing for the same day, viewed the property and agreed to go ahead if the landlord would accept a little cat- I was told that there had been a cat there previously and t landlord is absolutely fine with that, so I took my application into the office ready to go, baring in mind the property was on the month before and I was shrugged off by a cocky person on the phone and told I couldn't view , however it fell through, the property had clearly been left empty for a while because everything was damp and wet.. but I was told it was only empty for a week.. i was told when I handed over the form and offered to pay the deposit that they would 'wait it out for more applications ' despite having somebody who Ian going to be homeless in a week eager to go ahead.. and spoken down to, I work in sales myself and it is no job of importance but these people clearly think they are far superior to anyone else. I tried calling again to get an update and was told I'd just have to wait... I ten receive a call saying they've chosen someone else a day later.. this company is all for taking back handers which is very clearly the case here.. I find it absolutely shocking that they are able to go about business in this way and how this is not pulled by standards??

We have discussed your complaint with all colleagues whom you dealt with and they are upset that you felt that you were spoken down to or treated in any way unfairly. Montrose has been established for 35 years and we pride ourselves on delivering a high standard of service for prospective tenants, existing tenants and landlords. On this occasion, we had to follow instruction from the landlord as the property you are referring to is a let only property, meaning that the landlord would manage your tenancy, not ourselves at Montrose. We re-advertised the property after a previous application had fallen through leaving the property empty for approximately one week, as we explained to you and you have stated. You viewed the property on Tuesday afternoon. We re-advertised the property and commenced viewings on Saturday 5th November. We put all the applications received to the landlord, at their request, as you were informed at the time we received your application. All of the applications that we received were of an equally high standard and so the landlord chose to proceed fairly on a first come first served basis. As such the property went to an applicant who had viewed on Saturday 5th. As stated you called for an update Wednesday and you were then informed of the decision as soon as we had heard from the landlord on Thursday. We do not think that this is an unacceptable timeframe. We are members of the Property Ombudsman and regularly consult the Residents Landlord Association to ensure that we are operating to industry best practices. Agency fees were very good, rent is competitive for the area. Deposit was maybe a little higher then I have previously experience but at the end of the day if you look after the property and leave it as you found it then you will get it all back.

Their fees are very reasonsble compared to their competitors. They also don't charge high commission on every aspect of maintenance and repair so I never feel ripped off.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
