I rented a Farm House via Walton & Hipkiss. Shortly after moving in it became apparent the property was uninhabitable, just some of the issues which came to light were - - Sewage leaking in to the garden - Mice Infestation - Toilets not flushing - Shower not working - Roof slates slipping causing mortar to fall in to the garden Walton & Hipkiss offered very little help or support through what was a very traumatic 4 months (we moved out the property after 4 months due to health concerns caused by the living conditions losing 2 months' rent at £1750.00 per month). Every time we contacted Walton & Hipkiss they had a standard answer of "we'll contact the landlord and get back to you", they seldom returned our calls. On the odd occasion they did call us back they were extremely obstinate and unhelpful. An example of this was witnessed after a weekend of sewage leaking from a manhole cover, main shower not working, mice in the property and a floorboard in the lounge collapsing I felt justified in asking Walton & Hipkiss for their help. They sent their lettings manger Victoria Jelfs to see us, the first time she could fit us in was the following Friday. After waiting nearly a week to see her Victoria's only input to resolving our issues was to state to my partner and I that all these issues you face are quirks of the property, some people should live in listed buildings and some people shouldn't'!!!!!! We involved Bromsgrove District Council Trading Standards (Private Housing) which seemed to prompt Walton & Hipkiss in to at least appearing to be trying to sort issues, however at the point of vacating the property only the floor joist had been repaired, and all other issues were still outstanding. Walton & Hipkiss staff lied and mislead us on numerous occasions, I found them to be unreliable and often displayed an uncooperative attitude.
