Everything was awful from the get-go. 1. We were asked for a �200 non-refundable deposit and told this would cover the agency fees. Once it was paid, we were told that we actually owed another �300. Our agent, Will Burden, went back on this and claimed that he had explained everything up front. There was no paper trail, what could we do? We started recording all phone calls and storing all emails. 2. Previous tenants had had a cat. We are severely allergic to cat hair. We reported this straight away, but it took 2 months (in which my husband developed asthma) before getting a new carpet - and this was only because we thought outside the box and contacted the landlady directly. 3. Any time we needed repairs, e.g. a leaking ceiling, it took at least 3 weeks for them to send someone out. 4. Trying to get our deposit back. It has been 2 months since we moved out. A month ago, I was sent a holding email to say they were waiting the landlady's instructions. I have chased up with 3 emails and 3 phone calls and still have not received an email or call back. 5. Our landlady is so disgusted with them that she is switching to another agency.

These are the quintessential sharp practice agents. Absolutely extortionate. Read the small print. They assume the tenants are their property. They handle all tenant issues hopelessly and revert back to the landlord anyway. They have no hands on but use a call centre and stop work at 5pm... Read Full Review

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
