After agreeing to rent a property that was convered in scaffolding after being assured this was for repainting and would be down in 2 months max, we came to discover that the whole building was being rerendered. Scaffolding turned into balconies being removed, windows being tapped shut and covered in blue sheeting to stop residents breathing in the dust. The worst of it was during SUMMER! Not only did Savills lie (or in their words, misunderstood the situation!) but we were still made to pay full rent on the property and offered no break clause or alternative accommodation. The Associate Director was more concerned about making sure her staff had not said anything that would hold Savills liable rather than the situation I had to put up with for 12months.


What agent could do to change your mind?

Agent made no effort whatsoever to either inform us of the situation, keep us updated on the situation (we had to attend residents meetings with the builders to find out the situation!) and offered no solution other than a pathetic apology once we had sent numerous emails. Have used Savills before and not had a problem but the Guildford branch is a joke! I even had staff contacting me saying I had no returned the signed contract which allowed me to leave after 12months! When I insisted I had they miraculously found it!


Comments on Agent Fees

Flat was not worth rental price. Paid for balcony space and open light accommodation. Balconies were removed and windows taped up and covered in film!

What agent could do to change your mind?
