I rang up to request a viewing. The gentleman who answered the phone asked me for my name and then annual household income! When I told him I wasn't prepared to give him that information at that stage his response was

Old fashioned attitude and not upto date with current legislation. After 40 years in the business current owner thinks he knows it all and is never in the wrong, so you never get an apology for the blunders they certainly do make. Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
