Shocking service, very unprofessional and would not recommend anyone to use them. Moved into the property which I was told would be professionally cleaned but it was filthy and was told by the staff to get a cleaner in to which I had to pay £150 for. Then I had no hot water for the first 3 months of living there, which they wouldn't do anything about, so I had to contact my landlord myself. I then had a leaking toilet for 5 months, which only got fixed because I found out it was against the health and hygiene law. The final straw was that my radiators upstairs don't work to which they said 'well at least you have some heating' e.g the one radiator in my kitchen! They finally sent someone out to fix the heating, to which I have just received an invoice from Northwood asking me to pay the fee! They clearly do not know how to run a business and my landlord is also unhappy with how they have treated us both.

20 Nov 2014It would appear that the details as stated above differ substantially from the office records held on file. 1. The dripping toilet was picked up by a Northwood agent on an inspection on 22/10/2014 the the job completed on 10/11/2014. There is no record of any notification by the tenant prior to this date. 2. The issue with the hot water was reported 30/05/2014 and the landlord had someone at the property for the work to be completed 06/06/2014. 3. There are detailed records on file regarding the heating issues. As follows: • 9th October issue reported by the tenant. Landlord informed and wanted access arranging with tenant so tenant was phoned and a message left. • 14th October no call back from the tenant regarding landlord access so called again • 15th October as tenant not responded listed as no further action • 16th October tenant phone to say only just got the original voicemail. Informed the office it was only the bathroom radiator and that she did have some heating. • 17th October landlord was contacted and the tenant informed to bleed radiator first. • 22nd October not heard back from tenant so emailed for an update. • 5th November tenant phoned to say she had not had chance to bleed the radiator but will let us know if any further action is required. • 10th November tenant informed us that radiator had been bled and they then noticed the boiler leak. This was probably caused by bleeding the radiator and then having to top the boiler up. • 10th November the contractor visited the property to resolve the leaking boiler. • 19th November the contractor was spoken to and agreed to waive the invoice of £45 and the tenant was informed. The above records bear little resemblance to the tenant’s (who continues to reside in the property) recollection of events and therefore we feel her comments unwarranted and unjust.

8 Apr 20151. I informed Northwood about the toilet and water on 07/04/14 along with a few other things e.g leaking taps. - I was told by a member of staff that the toilet would be looked at and to give the water time to warm up. - 22/10/14 The toilet was picked up in an inspection because I pointed it out to them. - The toilet was then fixed almost three weeks later, due to me ringing several times, as I had found out that it was against the health and hygiene law. 2. The hot water was also reported on 07/04/14 along with the toilet. - I rang several times about the water also, to which I was told they were still trying to get hold of the landlord. -06/06/14 The landlord contacted myself to which she organised to send someone round to fix it. 3. I rang Northwood as all of the upstairs radiators were not working. - Rang a few times that week and explained that my phone was poor for signal at work, so to ring my work phone if they needed to. - Every time I rang I was told the person who was dealing with it was not in and they would call me back. - 16/10/14 rang again and a member of staff asked me some questions about the heating, to which I told them that the kitchen one was working, she then replied 'well at least you have some heating' - 17/10/14 I was called by Northwood and was told that I should bleed the radiators and to top the pressure up if needed. - I told them I was not sure how to bleed a radiator or top the pressure up, so I would have to get someone else to do those things. -05/11/14 I had still not had chance to do it as I did not know anybody who could/ have time to do it. -10/11/14 Reported the leak and it was fixed. -13/11/14 I received an invoice of £45 for the leaking boiler. I was told I was to pay as I had bled and filled up the boiler, which Northwood had told be to do so. 19/11/14 Emailed Northwood and questioned the invoice and was told I did not have to pay. I moved out of this property in December, so I no longer rent from this letting agents. In my opinion they could do with putting the amount of effort they have to my response in with the tenants and then maybe they would not get reviews like this.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
