DO NOT USE THIS ESTATE AGENT, GO ELSEWHERE. I responded to an ad on the roombuddies website and ended up at Mann Estate. The agreed rental for 1 medium bedroom and 1 tiny single bedroom, no communal lounge, 1 communal kitchen and bathroom (no basin in the bathroom just a shower and toilet) when i viewed it was £700, then it went up to £750 and the week when I was due to move in it went up to £800. The house has a leaking shower, the gas cooker is mounted on top of bricks and there is a mattress in the kitchen. There is mice and the state of the house is not good. The access door is at the back of the house, there are no lights, twice I have tripped and fell, I have since downloaded a torch on my phone to see. When I registered with them I was told that the house is undergoing rennovations and that all will be completed before I moved in, I have been living here for a month and nothing has changed. I was asked to pay £75 admin charges cash (no receipt), I have not received a tenancy agreement or a Diposit Protection Scheme. I was asked to pay the deposit cash and even the rent at which point I said no to paying my rent in cash. Everything is doggie, while I was there to pay my deposit the receptionist was on the phone asking a caller which country they were from and that it was now a legal requirement for them to know which country all potential tenants where from (B*****). I still have not received my deposit protection whereabouts (illegal). I am not going to allow anybody to trick me out of my hard earned money, I am going to seek advice from the local authority.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Charge me one price and stick to it, my circumstances didnt change and yet the rent went up twice in a month before I even moved in. Lies lies lies and more lies, why cant they tell the truth. its a disgrace- i moved to England to run away from such corrupt people but it sems they are everywhere.

14 Jun 2019Very very horrible agency. took them 3 week to agree on a offer but once agreed, kept going back on their words. very dodgy, wanted me to pay deposit into unknown bank account and not willing to provide receipt or confirmation of offer in writing. wouldn't recommend, WASTE OF TIME!!

What agent could do to change your mind?

The staff at Mann Countrywide in Eltham are unprofessional, Poorly trained, Pushy, lie and argue with you on the telephone what an experience!
