Thanks to Pygott & Crone's terrible service I am now homeless, having to stay with friends and store my furniture in their garage. As I am moving from London, I left loads of time to find somewhere to live and was delighted to find a nice property in my price range. I put in an application on 22nd July. Alarm bells should have sounded from the beginning to be honest as they failed to send an agent to show me round and relied on the tenant to do it for them. She was lovely and very enthusiastic about the property and location. From the moment I put in the application I was given the run around. I am not naming the agent because that seems a bit cruel and the problem is clearly agency-wide. I explained clearly to the woman I dealt with that my work situation was complicated but that I had a guarantor. She assured me that she would check with the landlady. It took her about 10 days to get round to this, with her persistently claiming she 'couldn't get hold of her'. Finally she left me a message saying this was all fine and that we could proceed. This was the only time she returned any of my calls or emails in relation to the property, failing to show even rudimentary good manners or customer service. I paid the application fee and the did not hear anything more. I then returned from holiday to a message from the reference checking agency. It transpired that Pygott & Crone had not passed on the details of my guarantor to them. The agent was aware from the beginning that I was moving from London, had a specific move date and was moving all my furniture. Yet when I phoned them to ask what on earth was going on and to determine when I was to sign the contract I was informed that the current tenants had decided to stay longer and 'was that a problem'. Looking back I should have seen the warning signs but I trusted the agent to keep their word. I naively assumed that as I wanted to rent a property and they wished to let one out then that should proceed smoothly. I couldn't have been more wrong! I also feel sorry for the landlord who knows nothing of this and who has now lost a prospective tenant. If you don't wish to age 10 years from stress do not use Pygott & Crone.
Actually done the job they are paid to do. Responded to me without having to be constantly chased.

Shocking. Was going to let the poor communication go because property completed and I no longer needed to deal with them. I am missing keys so I have contacted… apparently I have lost them! No responsibility taken for... Read Full Review

We have been looking at houses in Lincoln and made an offer on a property listed with P&C. The agent repeatedly tried to push us into taking out a mortgage with them (which is a conflict of interest if they are also the agent for the vendor) and then became uncooperative when we refused because ... Avoid â VERY POOR customer service. Even when trying to complain they treat you with disrespect. Disappointed as I just wanted an apology as the company was not upfront with all their requirements For the fees they are asking for they should try and actually understand that clients... An agent from Pygott and Crone came to survey my property for the prospective purchasers mortgage. At my home he told me that my property would definitely value up and that everything would go through fine. I expected this to be the case as my property was fairly priced in comparison to similar... Went to view a property, man who showed us around was nice and seemed very knowledgeable. We asked about parking and he assured us there was parking outside but we had to buy permits from the council, he even specified the price and said we would be able to get permits for both cars. We signed... Read Full Review
Do not advertise properties as having parking when there is no parking and there never has been! Nobody got back to us, we had to keep calling even though we were at work and members of staff seemed irritated by us \'hassling,\' even though we were going to be homeless in 2 weeks if it wasn\'t sorted out. Property is being advertised and still doesn\'t mention there is no parking which is appalling and wasting peoples time.

I went to view a property at sandringham house in Lincoln, shown round by a young lad who was new and seemed nice. The next day I decided to make an offer and spoke to Jason the manager. My offer was 47k (asking price 50k), which was rejected and Jason informed me if I met the seller halfway then... Read Full Review

Agree with comments from "disgusted" above. Having constantly been told by the staff in Silver Street how they sell the most properties in Lincoln this was an unforgettable, stressful experience. Yes I also agree that its run by young kids who are only concerned with making their... Read Full Review

Very dodgy for a larger company. Seemingly in partnership with landlords to withhold deposits. Mr M.Brayfield was particularly elusive and would never return a call or email. Despite being given an extreme amount of time to resolve this they failed and we used the TDS to help. I believe if we... Read Full Review
