Hi Everyone, I am also a victim of their scam. My friend and I were going to rent an apartment via them. However 3 days before the move, (everything all paid for) they told us the ‘bad landlord' pulled out, leaving us stranded, no money, and no place to live. After looking at their company profile, it seems them have been liquidated since2011!! So everything is a complete scam! This is criminal. How could authorities let them run loose like this is my question? Since the incident, I have called 1)Property Ombudsman (they couldn't do much) 2)Office of Fair Trading (Citizen advise) http://www.oft.gov.uk/business-advice/estate-agents/estate-agent-complaints#.Ui4gTbPsgcA I did received a letter from the department of fair trade from Newham council. They have asked me to provide some paperwork to them and they will see if is worth investigating. 3)Action Fraud http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/ : Submit a fraud report If everyone could submit their case against Guy Salmon Estates via these channels, then we might have a better chance in getting the right people to investigate them as a one big case, rather than just individual case.

20 Sept 2013I'm in the same boat so pls tell me what exactly you wrote to OFT. I'm a landlady of the property that was let by them to a person who apparently work for Hox City but this company is also an estate agency which is closed. it seems to me that they used my property for their own people and fraud the signatures on the AST. The money was never received from the tenant directly some was only recover from Guy Salmon. I want to report this scam too..

20 Sept 2013I am a landlord and have also been scammed by Guy Salmon. They had keys to show my property, but somehow put tenants in there without telling me, in April 2013, took over £4,000 from the tenants as deposit and advanced rent and kept the lot as their 'commission', then took another months rent from the tenants - and subsequently disappeared with £6k of mine and my tenants money. I have also reported them to OFT and preparing paperwork for the property ombudsman and police. I think there are enough people in this discussion to get together and pursue a legal case against these guys.

24 Sept 2013Hi Monika, you just need to first call them on the number that i have provided above. Then say you want to report a case against Guy Salmon. THey will ask you to register a few details, a bit about the case and someone from the OFT will be in contact with you (should be via mail). You then just need to submit your particular case providing all the evidences that you have against Guy Salmons. eg. email, telephone, text I think a few people have already reported to the OFT, so fingers crossed that they will do something about it.

What agent could do to change your mind?
The agent could have given me my money back on the property as soon as it became apparent that they had illegally let it. instead they left me high and dry. when i finally managed to get my cash back, they wouldn\'t return the £300 administration fee (even though i\'d only had the property 4 days) They wouldn\'t return calls or emails. They should also have offered some recompense for the £1000 I spent moving in and out of the illegally rented property. Disgusting

Do not use this agent. They are a family run business where all three brothers claim not to know each other. Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
