Called McHugh & Co to check if they had received my pre-auction offer for a property (£5k over the guide price set) and it was answered by a rude person called Marino - he basically laughed at my offer and refused to even send it to the vendor because he said "there was no point" - he took it upon himself to decline my offer. I made my offer based on the reserve price. Why set low prices and waste peoples time? NOT WORTH DEALING WITH THIS JOKE AUCTION!

4 Dec 2022I think it's unfair to leave such a negative review simply because your offer was turned down. You make the point that your offer was £5k about the reserve, but to keep this in perspective one would have to know the guide price. There is a lot of difference in an offer £5k above the reserve price on a budget £25k property and a £5k offer above the reserve on a £300k property.

I’m writing this as a close friend of the buyer involved in a recent property auction handled by McHugh & Co., regarding Lot 35A – 301 Shirland Road, Maida Vale, W9. The facts are very clear — your public auction listing explicitly stated: “Leasehold. Approximately 142 years unexpired.” There was ... Read Full Review

My sister purchased a flat in Maida Vale, W9, through an auction held by McHugh & Co. The auction catalogue and online listing clearly stated that the property had a lease term of “approximately 142 years unexpired.” Based on this information, she bid on and won the property, paying a 10% deposit ...
