We currently rent through this agency and recently discovered a hole in the wall letting cold air in in sub zero temperatures. Despite having a building contractor visiting our property tomorrow to do work on our garage roof, we have been told that they will not be instructed to do a proper temporary repair while they are here. Instead, we have been advised to stuff the hole with plastic bags. Environmental Health have corroborated with the agency that this is acceptable but what I don't find acceptable is that there is no reason that their builder can't do a proper repair quickly to further make the home comfortable but the agent is refusing to ask them. This is the latest in a long line of problems I have had to fight to address, which has taken input from the local council to get any progress at all. This agency is led by Stephen Chipp, who, in my experience, gives the impression that tenants are amoebas and, as another review has said here some years ago, landlords are god. Pretty much the only time we have quick action is if another member of their team is dealing with the query, or when we realised that our house had been let to us without working smoke alarms. Town and country claim to learn from feedback but the reviews here show that they do not, as we are experiencing similar problems to tenants from some years before. I would not recommend them to anyone wanting a quality and stress-free tenancy. When I have spoken up on other platforms, I have been accused of being libellous and bogus, even threatened with legal action, when I have written communication to back up everything I say. Disappointed to say the least.
