Five months ago I reported to you that the tenants of a downstairs flat in Port Talbot central were dealing in drugs, and that their horrendous smelling substance was so strong that it was wafting into our house through the downstairs and upstairs party walls. I asked for the landlord to be informed of this situation. I now know that this complaint was not passed on to him. Several weeks later, the offensive smoke continued to pollute our property. One of your staff then told me that when she had recently made an inspection of the flat and ironically had reported that she found 'no evidence whatsoever of drug abuse'. A tenant at the top floor flat left before Christmas because of the stench of drugs wafting through the floorboards. A young blue/ grey serenStaffordshire bull terrier lives in the flat, and he/she was also prone to the effects of drug abuse.

Was told would have weekly update it did not happen, asked for Catherine to call me back and it didn't happen, also there were appointments being booked in when I called to ask for an update, these were cancelled on the day of the viewing. On the day I told them I was moving agents there were 2/3 people who were going to make an offer.....never had those. Switch to another agent (opposite Bridgend office) and my house sold, had 7 viewings within the week of going on. There has clearly been a breakdown in communication which I believe will be addressed by Catherine and the leadership team.

I've dealt with other branches but mainly Beth from the Port Talbot Branch.
They call you/mail you back regarding your enquiries. If you decide on a viewing, they'll confirm a timing for you and will call the day before or on the day to check. This is very nice as it keeps you updated in the loop.
When viewing, Beth was fantastic. No special marketing words to deceive on a property. Everything was honest. It was refreshing and gave me such confidence in her and the company she worked for that if we ever came across problems down the line, they would be trustworthy and sort it out.
We viewed another property a couple of months later and Beth showed us on the second property. She was very pleasant and again, very honest about the whole property and even suggested things that could be done at their end to improve it prior to us moving in. Any questions we had, she asked the appropriate team member/landlord and very soon got back to us to let us know what was feasible.
After coming across a few less ideal agents, it was so nice to experience professional, respectful treatment that wasn't littered with empty promises. I liked the professionalism of the agents here so much that it puts such a big plus to choose PJC's portfolio of properties.

Agency fees are a joke at the best of times. A licence to print money. But it goes beyond this when the effort from the agent amounts to false advertising on a website, incompetence in sending correct information and a complete inability to return phone calls within 2 working days.

The experience started well with the agent being on time and showing me around the property. That's about where it ended. The property was advertised as 'available immediately', which was imperative to my timetable.
Once I'd agreed to rent the property I was supposed to receive a reference form via email. The form that I received wasn't like any reference form I'd seen before. I made a number of calls to PJC to get to the bottom of it - but the person dealing with the property was repeatedly out of the office and would return my call. After 2 days, more phone calls and no return call, I called into their office where I discovered I'd been sent the wrong form and they'd now send the correct one. Ok, these things happen, but there is no excuse for not getting back to me sooner.
Once all the paperwork was in and I'd paid the deposit and agency fee, the bombshell then dropped that the property wasn't actually available for another 2 weeks! Furthermore, I was then informed that this property is managed by the landlord and I would now have to arrange access through him. Why I paid this so-called 'agency fee' is beyond me. Especially after being given misinformation about the property's availability, the wrong form, not returning my calls to the point I had to come into the office to get things moving. To cap it off, I was then given the wrong contact details for the landlord!
Once I was able to establish contact with the landlord, I had an interesting conversation with him and told him exactly what type of service he was getting for his money. Needless to say he may be taking his business elsewhere.

erson to clean but going on bothering to take insurance .I suggest no one to rent from them.Tony Jones was suggested by my colleague s but still I went for this very very unhappy.i came all the way from India for 6 months.very bad and rude stuff

What agent could do to change your mind?
The agent should have recognised their incompetence and returned my £300 as it was obtained by false and misleading advertising.

I paid them. I was distraught to discover I only had a rent guarantee when their sales brochure advertised an 'insurance policy' my rent guarantee was NOT an insurance policy in any way. PJC also advertised they were a member of the Property Ombudsman when they were not. I took the matter to Trading Standards who visited the premises and told me PJC were guilty of a 'criminal offence' but as they had amended their literature (presumably after I pointed out PJC's misrepresentations) Trading Standards did not feel the need to prosecute them as they said it 'would be a waste of public funds'. 'Think PJC'.....think not!
