We had a pretty awful experience dealing with Bushells when looking to rent our property. Once rent had been agreed, we received emails demanding agreements to be returned scanned and signed within the hour despite both of us working. References were then demanded by an unrealistically achievable date 17days before actual move in. it was then silence from Bushells for 2 weeks and in the end we only got confirmation we had the place 4 days prior to move in. We also had requests for some changes to the lease which were all rejected without being looked into. We even asked for a longer lease and this was meant with an angry response that the rent was lower than expected but they would ask. Nothing came of this so I suspect they never even asked the owner. I'm guessing longer leases means less money to Bushells as they probably receive a finders fee from the owner and higher rent form the new tenant. Worse was to come when we moved in an the promised furnishings were not present. The living room had no lights, no tv aerial, no chest drawers which were all confirmed by the letting agent as being part of the property. I wouldn't call the letting agent a liar as such but saying yes when you don't have a clue is pretty much the same as lying. It is now 3 weeks later and we finally have had simple things like the bathroom door actually closing and hot showers fixed but this we had to chase as the letting agent gave us no details of property management contact(he's actually seems helpful and a nice guy at least). Anyway, we are now settled in and won't have to deal with the lettings agent for at least 11months. Ok that is my rant over, haha!
What agent could do to change your mind?
Not lied and treated us like people instead of a transaction.
