AVOID AT ALL COSTS- WORST SERVICE EVER.
To summarise the following paragraphs: When we arrived at the KFH office ON THE DAY of the start of the tenancy we were told TWICE that we would not be able to move in. Very poor communication- being told the manager was in a "managers meeting" almost every time by different staff.
I cannot believe how poorly we were treated at KFH Crystal Palace.
The four of us were supposed to be renting a 5 bedroom house in Crystal Palace but it all fell through due to the incompetency of KFH and the landlord. At every stage of trying complete the renting agreement, we were faced with AWFUL service.
Whilst we were trying to sign the necessary documents to move in, there was such poor communication with the estate agent and there was a lot of mistakes in our tenancy agreement and multiple times they spelt our names wrong even after telling them to correct it.
Having signed the tenancy agreement and paid everything necessary to move in (holding deposit, deposit, 1months rent), we were supposed to move in on a Monday and at no point were we ever told about the procedure to pick up the keys and inventory check. When my friend arrived at the KFH office to pick up the keys Monday afternoon, we were told that we couldn't move in that day and we were not given a reason why. We were not notified beforehand that we would not be able to move in so some of us took a day off of work for no reason, we also had to pay costs of last minute extra storage time and cancelling the deliveries of belongings- which we received no compensation for.
We were then told we were going to move in on the following Saturday. So we went to the KFH office on Saturday to pick up the keys, again after having no information about the move in procedure. When we arrived we were told that the estate agent we were dealing with, Kyle Bolger, was on annual leave and they couldn't give us the keys and they did not tell us why. It was rude enough that we weren't told beforehand that the estate agent dealing with our tenancy was going to be away but also again no pre-warning that we would not be able to move in. We were left outside the property with all of our delivered boxes in the freezing cold, as it was too late to cancel the delivery from storage, with no help from KFH. The manager of the branch then called us to ask if we wanted to move in on a later date but by that time we had had enough so we withdrew from the tenancy as we no longer wanted to deal with KFH and would rather deal with the hassle of finding a different home than having to deal with KFH again.
I would like to add that during that whole time, it was always very difficult to get into contact with Kyle and his manager, who eventually took over our case. Every time we would call the office we would be told that Kyle was not in, or that his manager was in a "managers meeting". I called on one day and was told that the manger was in a "managers meeting", then called again the next morning and was told the same thing, then when I called the same afternoon I was told he was in a managers meeting again! And when I told them that I was told the same excuse that morning, they told me it was an all day meeting which I can hardly believe after being told quite regularly that they are in managers meetings!
I hope that no one ever has to go through what we went through so just keep this in mind when dealing with KFH Crystal Palace.
