Yesterday I've experienced the most disgusting experience I have ever had with an estate agency and all I had to do for it is call ' Your Move – Dudley '. I called to query a 2-bed house to rent in DY1. I called their office and introduced myself and stated my purpose. At this point is worth mentioning that I am Romanian so I speak with an east European accent. A lady answered my call with an attitude not fit for someone that works in customer service but it was a Monday morning so I gave her the benefit of the doubt although I just finished a night shift and continued to speak with her politely. I have told her the address of the property and she immediately dismissed me saying 'when we will book viewings, we'll give you a call is this the best number to call you? ' . She didn't even take my name; not a single question asked about me or my situation, absolutely nothing. The whole phone call conversation was less than a minute (10:23 am - 45 seconds to be precise – talk about efficiency). After so many years in UK I can smell a racist from miles away so I knew something isn't right. Luckily for me I have a gorgeous white British partner who has an amazing Black Country accent so within the next minutes I asked her to call and make the same query. And guess what? She got a viewing booked for this Friday. As you can tell by the attached snip she had her booking confirmation received within minutes too - I was so so jealous. Then I was thinking maybe it's a mistake so I left a query on right move also expressing my desire to see the property with my full details thinking I will be shorty called for a booking too. Long story short - it never happened ! For 'upper management' if you ever see my message if your properties are not open for all people why not post it? Something in between the lines ' For this property we are looking for .. and then state their desired traits'. Why do you need to treat people like that for what is the gain? It's 2024 to dismiss someone based on their accent it's disgusting and not needed. Do better! PS: The property does look lovely so I will come and see it on Friday ? !

I appointed Your Move after they had managed to sell another property on my street relatively quickly but after appointing them I found them unprofessional and regret not undertaking further research prior to appointing an agent.
On my few visits to their Dudley office the radio was playing loudly, desks were a mess, and the staff were drinking cans of pop. I felt rushed to sign the contracts and leave without being given the opportunity to talk or read through the extensive contracts.
I informed them repeatedly that I was not able to undertake daytime viewings in the week as I work full time 9-5, and yet almost everytime I was contacted regarding a potential viewing they had suggested a mid-afternoon mid-week viewing.
I asked them if they could provide my mobile number to potential viewers so I could be contacted should there be any issues, particularly given that most of my viewings were outside of office hours. This obviously never happened and on a few occasions I had no shows. It was nearly a 3 hour round trip from my new property (I had moved out) so this was obviously extremely frustrating and a waste of my time that could potentially have been easily avoided. I ultimately gave the agent a key to allow them to undertake viewings (once the contract changed so I would not have to pay per viewing). I provided detailed instructions of the procedure to deactivate the house alarm alongside other things. Prior to the first viewing I received a call asking how to deacitvate the alarm. I had a similar call for at least one subsequent viewing.
I had people turning up for veiwings asking basic questions that they should have been informed about initially. In one instance the viewer hadn't been told the property was leasehold and was immediately no longer interested. On a couple of other occasions the viewer had not been informed the property was being sold (at that time) through the modern method of auction and how that works from a buyers perspective. These were fundamental elements of the sale of the property and should have been conveyed to interested parties before anything else. I basically wasted a lot of time travelling to do viewings for people who would not have been interested if they had been given the proper information, or travelling for viewings where people had just not turned up.
As part of the marketing package I had paid for I was meant to have a for sale board erected outside my property. After a couple of weeks this still hadn't been installed so I called the branch who confirmed they'd chase this. After another couple of weeks still no board so I called again and was told they were ordering a board as we spoke. Still no board appeared. Only once I actually next had an opportunity to visit the branch and was sitting face to face, which was a few months into the sale, did they actually resolve this.
I had one sale fall through (no fault of the agent) and asked the agent to give me a few days to think over my next steps with regards to marketing the property. Despite this instruction the agent went ahead to show a new interested party around the property. This person ultimately put in an offer (and has since completed purchase of the property) but I felt rushed into accepting it at the time due to the actions of the agents.
The property had been vacant for a number of months during the sale process. On one of my visits to check up on the property I found the alarm had been deactivated. I spoke to the neighbour and found out the alarm had been going off, and they had rung the agent who had attended to turn off the alarm. I was not contacted at any point to be told this had occured or that there was an issue with the alarm that needed resolving.
In early May 2020 we were suddenly chased by the agent stating there was a desire to complete the sale within a couple of weeks. This was despite restrictions being in place at the time relating to the Coronavirus pandemic meaning that it was extremely unlikely any party could move house unless there were exceptional circumstances. My solicitor asked for clarity regarding this as there were still several enquiries outstanding at the time and we received a response from the agent stating the reasons for the pressure to complete were none of our concern. Frankly both rude and extremely unhelpful.
I am obviously pleased that my property is now sold but I will definitely be researching agents more thoroughly the next time I move.

They got me to sign a 'sole agency' contract which meant l could not sign up with another agent. I was advised its a 'No sale No Fee' basis. Had l been told l would NOT have used Yourmove. Over the weeks the branch manager became quite rude and aggressive because l would not sell a property through them at a much reduced price. Since putting a review up re the service l received and them not providing me with a copy of agreement l decided to use another agent because instead of apologising Tony became aggressive and he has made a false allegation that l became aggressive and he has several witnesses when it was only him and another receptionist at branch. i refused to speak to him and he slammed the door behind me when l went to collect the keys. I could not believe a branch manager could condone this sought of behaviour. i have now sent all the emails we had exchanged to head office customer relataions Head office.
