I had an extremely stressful experience with Winkworth as a tenant living in a property being managed for sale by Winkworth East Dulwich over the course of 4+ months.
At a base level, I feel they are very disorganised and optimise for viewers at the inconvenience of tenants. Different agents called me daily, sometimes multiple times a day, to organise viewings. I had to try to corral them into consolidating their comms to fewer agents, via email, and group viewing blocks as much as possible.
They consistently turned up earlier than the times we agreed upon. On one occasion, they turned up half an hour early without any notice while I was in the middle of a work call - I still accommodated them and let them in. On another occasion I had viewers turn up to the house unscheduled. I had to take the time to help the viewers figure out what was happening - I called Winkworth, they said they'd sort it out yet had to call back again when no one got back to me and the viewers were still waiting outside the door for 20-30 minutes. Yet, I still put up with this and was more than accommodating.
What really kept me in an anxious state in addition to the stress caused with everything else was when they would let themselves into my flat without notice. This happened on two occasions. In the first instance, the agent walked into the flat with the viewers and startled me while I was in the bedroom. Again, because they did not arrive at the scheduled time. The agent said they knocked on the door, but I was 6 paces from the front door and did not hear it. I told them multiple times in response to their viewing emails that they need to ring the front doorbell before they come up, but this continued to persist.
The second instance, which really shook me up, was when I was eating dinner upstairs and heard people walking into my flat. I thought someone was breaking in. Again, it was the same agent, Nicola K. It was 6:20 and she had booked viewings “between 5-6pm” for which I had left the flat. She had no right to enter the property 20 minutes after viewings were meant to end and with zero communication (no email, text phone call that they were coming). She didn't seem to think it was a big deal, asked “so can we not come in?” and insisted that by “between 5-6pm” she meant that the last viewing would start at 6pm. 1. No individual with common sense would assume that and 2. You're still showing up with no notice 20 minutes after that saying you were late. I was very shaken up and not thinking straight so I stepped out and even then accommodated them to view the flat!
A person has a right to live securely in their own home. Let alone a female living alone in London. It is unacceptable. I was left in tears.
I called the director, Alex V. the next day in the afternoon and the agent, Nicola, hadn't even told him what had happened the previous evening or any of the other instances. He agreed that that should not have happened and in any instance that agents are running early or late, they need to communicate. Which they never did in the 4+ months I had to deal with them. I sent him a formal complaint in an email and never got a reply to that message.
I have now moved out of the flat and am thankful I never have to deal with them again. My recommendation to Winkworth is to invest in basic training and technology to improve their bookings and viewings processes. They clearly need training for their agents on tenant relations and basic communication.

With a huge effort from Sami, everything was very efficiently sorted out so the new tenants could move in on the delayed entry date eventually...! Thanks so much girls!!

We've had our property Managed by Winkworths (Lordship Lane, East Dulwich branch) since 2013 as we had no close family the area. It can be a concern being so far away from your property and I can not recommend the Management team of this office highly enough. In particular Samantha Blackley who works in the dept. We recently had a problem that needed to be actioned with immediate effect and Samantha dealt with the situation with immediate response (I think at 12am one evening!), efficiently and extremely professional at all times. The problem is now fully solved to a much better standard and condition that it was originally and the handling of it was to a very high standard.

Sam,Wendy and all the girls have been very helpful at winkworths. I have been dealing with Winkworth for 15 years now and am extremely happy with the service I've received from them. Sam is always polite and very prompt to respond to any issue that comes up. Dealing with issues of condensation to the nth degree, when the tenants insisted it was damp, Sam arranged a surveyor to check out the property who was able to confirm the condensation due to lack of heating being used!

What agent could do to change your mind?
Would have to respect and protect both tenants and landlords interests. Have to learn a strategy to be fair and reasonable when dealing with public. All the breakages caused by the tenants, their costs just automatically go to the landlords to cover. (That's their own management)!.

Anything a tenant broke in your property, be it an electric cooker (ceramic top) you will end up buying another one because they are only after giving you a quote not even thinking for a minute if it was a misusage or fault of the tenants.
I had a few bad and very very disgusting experiences with them that I had to finally leave and another agent is now managing my property.
I just blame my self for staying with them after each problem, I thought they would learn from their mistakes but nothing of such. (Each time is worse).
They are in fact a complete Rubbish so I advise others to stay away from them.

Increasing the pressure on us to make a decision and compromise on what we wanted. We made a number of offers only to go to sealed bids and have others jump in with greater sums dashing our hopes and promising more evenings traipsing the streets of London in search of a home. The estate agents we worked with varied enormously some bad, some good but throughout Dulwich Winkworth stood out. Friendly, reliable and with excellent advice and support throughout the buying process (as well as often the best properties). Happily we eventually did find the right property with Winkworth and thanks to their help in preparing for the purchase we were in a strong position meaning we avoided sealed bids and the sale went through relatively hassle free :).

As for most we found the process of buying our first property very stressful. It took us around a year to find a place with the housing market getting hotter the whole time. Increasing the pressure on us to make a decision and compromise on what we wanted. We made a number of offers only to go to sealed bids and have others jump in with greater sums dashing our hopes and promising more evenings traipsing the streets of London in search of a home. The estate agents we worked with varied enormously some bad, some good but throughout Dulwich Winkworth stood out. Friendly, reliable and with excellent advice and support throughout the buying process (as well as often the best properties).
