Mark Cathro verbally agreed to sell our fathers house with fees of 0.9% however when our bill was issued we were charged 1%. Would not recommend merchant lettings to anyone. Me and my partner paid a month and a halfs rent upfront , which is the usual , also £192 admin fees ( which is illegal , this was confirmed by the council and shelter ) £24 for a guarantor before signing the lease we quizzed them on all the... We've experienced them both when buying and also when deciding who to go with to sell. I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. So unprofessional. We will never be returning to Merchant Lettings after our awful year with them in an awful flat. When we moved in the place was disgusting, all 5 of the tenants had to sleep on the floor in the same room for the first week because it wasnt ready, we had to clean everything because it was disgusting ...
