I reported on Friday 7th December and issue that I was experiencing with a white supplied with the property. The washing machine was not working as it should. Elaine responded quickly and liaised with our landlord to resolve the problem on our behalf. Both Elaine and the Landlord were very helpful and positive and approachable to try and resolve this problem. This is now Wednesday 12th December and we have understand that the new item will be delieverd on Saturday 15th December. A very speedy service

I am an absentee landlord living in Cape Town and I rely entirely on the Basingstoke team to manage every aspect of my properties. There have been a number of errors from various outside parties, particularly a company called Peverel, but the Basingstoke staff resolve these rapidly. They even intervened to have an eroneous legal issue reversed. It may be part of their job, but from my side the effort is greatly appreciated. I can highly recomend their services.

Yes, having agreed the sale and had the offer accepted, the weasels were baying for that extra commission…..
We found ourselves in the unfortunate position of losing the buyer of our flat. On our purchase we had the contract ready to sign. All the other paperwork was in place. We were reviewing our options…a buy-to-let mortgage on our flat was viable, but would take a few days to organise.
Our purchase was through Romans. We were persuaded to re-market our property for sale through Romans with promises of “keeping the chain aliveâ€Â, “the sellers are willing to waitâ€Â, “Romans have a vested interest†…the list of stock agent spiel goes on….
Waiting in the wings…enter the new buyer, equipped with enough information to make an attractive offer on our purchase. No communication through our solicitors, no communication through Romans.
We confront the squirming weasels….â€Âit all happened todayâ€Â…apparently. Unbeknown to Romans we are in contact with the seller and know this has been in the offing for at least a week…
The offer is made, accepted and there you have it the Gazump is complete….we are left with the legal fees and no property to purchase.
This is a cautionary tale for buyers, and is probably not unique to Romans….be wary the weasels are out there…..

My Husband and I would not hesitate in recommending Romans to support you in purchasing or selling a property. We instructed them in the sale of our house. They have a good presence in Basingstoke and I had been seeing Romans boards popping up all over Basingstoke. They also had a number of properties on their books that matched up with what we were looking to move into. Nick Badger came to see me and I found his valuation was the most realistic (i had 3 valuations done). Romans fees were higher than what i had been quoted by other agents but i felt that they were best placed to sell my house so went with them. I wasnt disappointed. We had 2 viewings prior to the brochures being printed. The house went online on Rightmove.com on a Wednesday and we had a viewing on the Friday evening which was successful. Romans acted quickly with our sale as we wanted to buy another house on their books (actually in the same road). Romans made it possible for our offer to be considered and they kept the lines of communication very open from the start, even dealing with a day of negotiations over the August Bank Holiday weekend. The follow up since the offers were accepted has been exceptional. I recieved a weekly call from Nick in another Romans office to update me on the progress of our sale and purchase, often getting information to me before my solicitor has even recieved the information. Today I recieved a call from my solicitor to tell me that we had exchanged contracts, this was followed within 10 minutes by a call from Nick to update me and then Nick Badger to offer congratulations. I could not fault the service they have offered us and will recommend then to anyone looking for a reputable agent in Basingstoke.

This was my first 'agent' managed rented property as I had previously rented from private landlords. I was hoping that this tenancy would be as positive as I had experienced before and it was.
There has to be an understanding that an agent with 20-30 properties in their charge has their time governed more than a private landlord, but I must say Lynn got back in touch with me by the end of the day be it by email, text or phone call.
I had a few queries about little changes I would like to make while at the property and Lynn spoke to the landlord and got back to me very quickly regarding these.
In conclusion Lynn has been a fantastic agent to deal with. Communication has been great and always within the timescale asked for, any agreements have been in writing with no ambiguity so easy for all parties to see what is what, and finally her manner, punctuality and professionalism have been above expectations.

Katherine Lailey and Robert Milne have been professional, involved and efficient throughout our process.
We opted for a Fully Managed Service which meant we were able to complete the rental of our property whilst we were out of the country and on the agreed date. Lynn Dunlop enthusiastically guided us through the pain free documentation.
Robert's ongoing communication kept us up to date throughout, he was superb to deal with and completely up to speed with our property, answering any questions we had.
First impressions do count and Katherine's ability to deal with our initial queries effectively promotes her as a terrific ambassador of Romans.

Jordane Boobyer followed up very well right through to finding the tenant within 2 weeks of advertising the property, after which is when Lynn Dunlop took over.
Lynn's speed of executing tenancy agreements and ability to answer my questions gave me great confidence that my property will be in good hands.
I am impressed with the high level of professionalism and service overall. I look forward to a long term relationship with the agency.
