Unreliable, disorganized and slow to respond. I looked at several properties with Mid Cornwall lettings, and inquired about several, and were let down at almost every turn. Here's just a short list of things Mid Cornwall lettings failed on: 1) The first viewing we turned up at our appointment time to be told we would have to wait as another couple were viewing the property. We waited 30 minutes. 2) After viewing that property I wanted to put in an offer, and was told nothing could happen until Monday morning. I called 9am Monday morning, to be told it had gone. How? 3) The next property we viewed the agent wasn't there, despite us arranging a time the day before. so I had to call. They had forgotten. They turned up 20 minutes later. 4) We wanted to rent this property also, but the agent DIDN'T KNOW if the landlord was ok with dogs. This was despite me telling them several times from the off that we had a small dog. They said they would check and get back to me the next morning. 5) They didn't, and i called repeatedly the next day, to be told 'They didn't know yet'. Surely knowing whether pets are allowed is a fairly basic requirement for a letting agency. Eventually at 4:30pm the next day, I was informed dogs weren't allowed. 6) They charge the prospective tenant extortionate fees. Something that I haven't encountered before, although admittedly I have used mainly private landlords.
This ridiculous litany of errors involved in every communication and arrangement we had with Mid Cornwall Lettings, which is a shame because they had some great properties on offer. If you use them, don't expect fast response times or good customer service, and make sure you don't book any viewings immediately after one with them. They will no doubt be delayed, late, or won't turn up at all!!!
