Don’t ever choose to buy a house with martin&co.
I really had a bad experience with them.
We made an offer to buy a house and the offer was accepted. We carried on with mortgage advisor, home evaluation and solicitors. We paid around £660 in total. Then we got a call from martin&co telling that vendor withdrawn their decision in selling the house.
We asked martin&co to pass the message to vendors to pay us the compensation. We got an email from martin&co telling that vendors are not their clients, they were instructed by a part exchange company.
From the beginning they acted as a mediator between us and vendor. Now they are telling that the vendor is not their client. It’s really poor on their part saying that the vendor was not their client in the first place. They should have been honest.

Absolutely the MOST horrible, unprofessional, lying, cheating Estate Agency I have ever in my life dealt with. Dawn and Lucy mislead us throughout the purchase process for nearly two month and ending up not to complete. Anyone with healthy rational thinking would not deal with them even if they sell your dream house! Avoid if you don't want to end up with losing money and being lied to. Trust me on this matter, there are many other much much better Estates to go with.

Has been renting an apartment for over 5 years. Before I moved in, the agency promised me that I would wash the mold from the walls and renovate and fix many things in the house, such as a problem with the entrance door lock, mold on the wall, a non-working boiler broke every winter, water under the carpets. Unfortunately, even after reporting to Cunsil and letters from them nothing helped. The agency does nothing to this day and the only help now is to take the case to court. I had to run to friends in the winter to not freeze, I lost my stuff and money for heating with an electric heater because the boiler agency did not fix it for a month or two months and so every winter. Funny but true. I have dozens of phones and email sent to them, and nothing helped. And yet they can bully you and increase your rent to get you out of the apartment when I reported the matter to Cunsil.

Not only are Martin & Co the worst letting agent I have ever dealt with, they are the worst company I have ever dealt with, period. Dishonest, uncaring, unhelpful and greedy, they haven't done anything to assist us during our 3 year tenancy with them, and on more than one occasion have tried to charge us ridiculous fees for very little.

We had rented over 15 years and these are by far the worst. Extremely unprofessional, they lost our inventory but luckily we save everything! They are not quick at sorting out your problems almost like they are scared to approach the landlord with your queries etc. We are so glad to be rid of them... Read Full Review

We had rented over 15 years and these are by far the worst. Extremely unprofessional, they lost our inventory but luckily we save everything! Absolutely awful company. GO WITH ANY OTHER ESTATE AGENT POSSIBLE.
Before we even moved into the property we had to have home insurance that covered fixtures and fittings, no where would cover that because it's supposed to come under the landlords insurance, they then said this was company policy and we had to have it. We ended up having to ask them to guide us to a company that would cover everything. We then found out a month later by my friend who rents with them in Lincoln that she didn't have to have insurance, so they LIED to us.
When we moved in there was a hole in the wall that they said would be fixed ASAP. Two months later we had to walk into the shop to get them to fix it because they STILL hadn't sent anyone out. The house was also dirty/ hadn't been cleaned. Inside the kitchen counters were vile. We also complained about a strange smell in the house smelt like sewage) this was not dealt with at all.
We left the tenancy early (at the beginning of December), we had to pay an additional �130 to leave the tenancy and have the house readvertised that night, surprise surprise it wasn't. We then googled it again a couple of days later and it was up. We were also told that we were still liable for rent until a new tennant moved in which Alex said wouldn't take long.
Gave the keys back at the end of December and the girl estate agent was shocked that we hadn't had any viewings at all as rentals were getting snapped up recently. My partner looked online again, the house isn't advertised on their website, it's advertised on some other website and they had the available date as MARCH, not January!!!!! No wonder no one wanted to view the house!!!!!
We rung up and another lady answered (I think her name was Chris) and she of course lied threw her teeth saying no one wants to move this time of year, they wait until the new year (well why was the girl estate agent so shocked when I said no one had seen it?) and that the mistake isn't their fault but the other websites fault. The other website has since changed the date but the property is not on Martin and Cos own website.
They are in NO HURRY to do anything because we're still paying rent, they won't give us our deposits back until a new tennant is found, yet aren't bothering to find a new tenannt even though the house is vacant.
The worst estate agents!! All they see is money and ways to extort you. If you're reading this then please go to any other estate agent, anyone has to be better then these!!!!!!!!

What a bad move that turned out to be, they were careless, rude, sarcastic, unhelpful, and in the end I decided it would be easier to sell it. I can be specific if required I'm not sure how many words I can type. They have just sold my house in April, and even though I was not involved in a chain and the buyer had a mortgage in place it has only just completed on 12th August. It's been a nightmare from start to finish, rent not arriving at my bank, fees being charged wrongly, repairs being left for weeks (tile off roof) I feel if I had left my house with anyone else I would have continued to rent it out and leave my investment in the UK, but as it is I've jumped ship and sold it. It has cost me thousands.
