Hunters are least recommended for any tenants trying to rent a property through them, They fees are very high and they are one of the most lazy bunch of estate agents.

Hunters are least recommended for any tenants trying to rent a property through them, They fees are very high and they are one of the most lazy bunch of estate agents. They have no knowledge of tenants rights and responsibility and they try to extract unnecessary charges wherever necessary, They maintenance to your property will be bare minimum even after multiple requests of issues to the property. I strongly advise on taking tenancy with them as you will fork out more than required in the long run. Tenants unless it is an absolute necessary please find another agent properties

I'm an easygoing person, it takes a lot for me to want to complain or bad mouth a service, however I feel like I needed to write this review to try and warn others from using this AWFUL company.
If you're looking to rent a property DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Its no exaggeration, the way they treat their tenants is outrageous and disgusting.
They promise you things that they will never deliver. They ignore calls, emails and fob you off at every given opportunity.
They quite happily had my boyfriend and I living in a property full of black mould for months ands months, even after they have promised us time and time again that they would sort the issue out immediately. We were forced to throw bedding and clothing out because it got so bad. They didn't really care though.
They're also perfectly happy to let you live without smoke alarms for months too. You honestly couldn't make up how appalling their service is.
I'd imagine their company values include the following:
Minimising impact Getting every penny out our tenants Compromising tenant safety Lying with passion Ignoring customers Incompetence
They are an absolute joke of a company. DO NOT USE.

What you will find as a Tennant with Hunters is that you will hand back your keys after an inspection has been carried out on moving date and everything is found to be okay with the property your renting when your moving out but although you pay a months rent and bond upfront for your new property and administration fees you will not get your bond back until you have been moved 10 days later.Again Tennant's treat like second class citizens.

Their office should be on The Shambles, cos that's what their service is. I was continuously shocked at their disorganisation, and the way I was treated dismissively from the start. I was left tearing my hair out, waiting for days to hear whether my bids were successful or not, as they "didn't have the vendor's contact details cos he lives in Spain". Umm... they have phones and e-mail in Spain you know! I was frequently aghast and I lost out on the property due to their incompetence - they agreed a deal with another party whilst I was still waiting for an answer to my offer! They'd gone straight to the other party following my front-running bid and let him up his offer and then agreed the deal with the vendor, all behind my back and without letting me submit a counter offer or a final offer! I was prepared to go higher! How is that a fair negotiation?! I was furious! Yet not surprised. They treated me like some kind of risky rogue bidder, which is not remotely true. I have health problems but they weren't interested in assisting me in any way shape or form. I felt invisible, constantly chasing them up. Even my broker sensed my frustration with Hunters. I had to turn to staff at Coalters to help me - who are brilliant by the way - even though they were not even involved! But it was to no avail. Thankfully Coalters have now helped me find a better property, so it turned out ok for me in the end, and it was definitely a relief not to have to deal with Hunters again. I've dealt with many agents across the region and Hunters York are definitely bottom of the pile, by some distance.
