My partner has had an awful experience renting through Goadsby. Very quick to sign you up and secure your money but then it's all downhill from there. If you're looking for customer service, prompt communication or reasonable treatment then find another estate agent. A culture of arrogance & rudeness seems to run through this one. Luckily there's plenty more to choose from.

After buying our flat in Weymouth nearly 3 years ago and because the service was so good from Goadsby back then once we had decided to move on we didn't hesitate in calling them again. Michael Clarke had shown us around the flat back in 2015 and came to value the flat again in 2018. He was pleased with how we have improved the flat and we were very pleased with his valuation and confident he would find a buyer for us. The flat went on the market last Friday and Michaels colleague Freya arranged for our first viewing last Sunday. We accepted an offer there and then. Many thanks.

I had a 12 month contract (on 13th of april 2015) with the written clause to give a 2 month notice in case I need to leave; never before you dispute this clause. Now I need since my company send me in another town and gGoadsbydoes nkt want to comply with the contract asking me to stay until the end of the year. Since I will have a lot of expenses and discomfort goi go to work from wWeymouthto Poole every day, I ask you to observe the contract and leave me free to leave on 13th of january as I regularly noticed on 12th of november. I need to find another house so I asked you to help me using your services again, but you insisted for me to stay in Weymouth. I askedyou to show me your copy of the contract I signed on every page, but you never showed it to me. I really do not understand your position, and it is absolutelynot fear and giving me a lot of problems and expenses. Never you tried to understand or to demonstrate your right (that do not exist).

BEWARE-Towards the end of your 6 month AST (Normally 2 months to go) Goadsby will contact you asking if you wish to continue renting the property. If you state you wish to continue they will send you a letter asking you to sign a 'Memorandum of Agreement' if you sign this and return it they will request a fee of £65.00 plus VAT as they are now in a position to draft up a new contract. All AST's (according to the Housing Act) continue into 'Periodic Tenancies' and nothing changes. This is a total scam as it is just a way of Goadsby obtaining monies by deception. Basically they charge you to continue living at the property. I have never known any other agent in the UK do this.
