STAY CLEAR FROM THE LETTINGS DEPARTMENT!! I have rented with a few agencies and by far this has been the worst. When we moved in the house wasn’t cleaned after the last tenant. They ended cleaning around the things we’d already moved in. No promptness on faults to be fixed. They use the cheapest ways to resolve issues which needed attention. They are uncaring and unresponsive to any issues you face living in their property. They are clearly all about the money and not the tenant. Try Davis Tate if you need good letting agency in Abingdon. FindersKeepers are disorganised and poor at customer service. Never again. Also still waiting for deposit 2 months after leaving the property with hardly any communication from them. Awful service. Disgusted by them.

Would strongly recommend avoiding FK for lettings. They are by far the most inconsiderate, un-caring, incompetent "professionals" I have ever had to deal with when letting a property. They have no regard for you as a tenant and seems are only interested in their own profits and the profits of the landlord. I cannot wait until a time when I never have to deal with them again. If you love a property that FK are advertising - speak to the landlord direct and ask for it to be listed through another agency - if they are serious about letting and care about you as a tenant they will do it.

Having been in the tenancy for a number of months, it's safe to say we want out asap. Our property manager is less than useful, as we have reported several issues which have been slow (if ever) to be acted upon. Our numbers are handed out to any old contractor (who have to be approved by Finders Keepers, but their approval is questionable) and contractors have also been handed keys to let themselves in without notification or request, which has caused a lot of distress to us. Overall contactability and usefulness is shocking, and I would never ever deal with FK again.

As an indepenadent landlord I do not employ Finders Keepers. However I do have to deal with them because they are the agents for landlord of the flat above mine.
They have been no use whatsoever. Every year they have to be chased to maintain the grounds of the flat set aside for the upstairs flat. For the second time in ten years I have had to replace the fence between our gardens because their slefseeded shrubs have pushed the fence over. Less than a year old and the new fence is being destroyed. In addition this year the gardener left strands of poison ivy on the perimeter wall which have been waving two feet into the pavement at pushchair height.
They have deliberately conspired to damage my property and reduce the value of my property through negligence. They say all sorts of promises on the phone but do not correct the situation.
Avoid at all costs.

While check out, the property manager said, everything is fine, just 2 hours cleaning will do, and that will be £ 30, and we agreed that. BUT, they just cut £ 154 from our deposit WITHOUT saying any word. When we asked, they just said, these are carpet cleaning and final cleaning amount. If they are not happy with the cleaning then, why could tell that straight away and we could deal with our cleaning people. I understand, almost all agencies are horrible, but this people is really special. It is really sad, when someone cheat us and we cant say anything. I tried my best to get our money back, but no joy. The worst estate agents I have been through! Inflexible terms after a year of renting and poor lettings management team! The lettings manager we were dealing with, has a poor attitude, rarely responded (no out of office either), rarely addressed any issues raised in emails, and when they did it was only after several chases. It started off very promisingly, Stacey Gough the Lettings manager arranged our contract for the property at very short notice and answered all of our questions promptly and politely. As soon as they had our money the service stopped, the lettings management team were terrible. Prior to moving in we'd asked if there was an available lawn mover as we were moving from a flat to a house with a garden, it was a categorical no. On arrival we found that not only was there a lawn mover, but it was also on the inventory report… strange, seeing as its in black and white on documents they posses and claim to have been through?!?! The house when we arrive was filthy, bits and grime in the cupboards, the carpets, cupboard doors off, drawers stuck, blinds broken curtains half hung. They'd let us know that as it was short notice, the house was ‘ready with exception of the bins being emptied and grass needing to be mowed'. What we didn't expect was to have to clean the house top to bottom. The bins were not just full, they were overflowing and they never came to remove the rubbish and there were broken children's toys and barriers in the sheds. It took us over a month to clear the previous owners rubbish from the property. Added to which the boiler didn't work. There was an overwhelming smell of damp in the kitchen and it was clear from the walls behind the cupboard that there was a persistent issue, the issue continued to the shower room where black mould would appear on the walls within days of cleaning, despite windows being open. We reported the issue, as presumably the owner would be concerned about their property and wish to have it looked at. Apparently not. We were told that the property was old and needed to be ventilated. No check, nothing. All very good and well at the peak of the summer but during the winter is it really feesible to have all your windows open? As the year went on, the fence broke, cupboard drawers fell off and we eventually persuaded them to have an extractor fan put into the shower, correspondence was slow, often weeks to respond and only after chasing did you receive a rather curt often rude or abrupt response. We decided that for the most part it would be easier and quicker to resolve issues ourselves. A few months from our contract coming to an end we'd put an offer in on a property and asked if we could have a two month rolling contract after the first year. They would let us move onto a two month rolling contract only after signing up for another six months, which wasn't really feasible if we needed to also pay a mortgage. After almost a decade of renting I have NEVER experienced this inflexibility, if fact it is very normal to move onto a rolling contract after the first year but Finders Keepers would not let us do this, blaming the land lord. Now that we have moved out of the property we have been told we are being charged for cleaning, and windows, they also wanted to charge us for lawn mowing ?!?!??! Having clearly send the lettings manager images of an unclean property with the inventory when we moved in it is a real cheek to now charge us. But then again in their usual style they've just ignored these points in the email. I sincerely hope that the landlords don't mind their houses being run into the ground and get an amazing deal with Finders Keepers because as a tenant you get nothing in terms of value for money or service.

Atrocious Service Level!!!
I recently terminated my tenancy agreement early with Finders Keepers due to a lack of maintenance on the property: - Neither fridge/freezer or washing machine was working for more than a month, - unable to use main bathroom for 6 week due to in-wall cistern leak flooding the bathroom floor - Had to move out of the property for 2 weeks due to the black mold growth caused by the leak in the bathroom.
I was expected to pay full rent throughout this period, even when I had to move out the property. When I finally decided enough was enough I was charged 1080.00 as an early termination fee. I finally recovered 400.00 of this termination fee but only after I exhausted Finders Keepers complaints process and escalated the complaint to the Property Ombudsman.
The handover of the property took place early January 2016. The only issue that arose was a cherry aid stain the size of a .20 pence coin in my daughters room. The carpet was relatively new as the entire house was re carpeted after the above mentioned flooding and Finders Keepers insisted that the carpets in my daughters room will need to be replaced.
I agreed to pay apportioned contribution for the replacement of the carpet (Cost of replacement carpet / Carpet life expectancy x number of years remaining) but would require a receipt to prove that the work was completed.
Finders Keepers advised that they were not willing to provide a receipt as they are not intending on replacing the carpets, but that I will still need to pay in excess of 240.00.
Don't get me wrong, I'm willing to contribute to the diminution of the carpet but don't appreciate when a company tries to charge me extortionate prices for something that the are not even going to undertake, betterment...
Stay clear of Finders Keepers at all cost!!!!!

The only reason we are going to renew our tenancy is due to the hassle of moving. I would not recommend Finders Keepers, their inability to perform basic admin tasks such as tenants names is disgraceful and they are clearly not interested in their tenants.

Our tenancy is up for renewal and I have contacted the branch several times via email and eventually called to ask why no response had been received and again had no call back or response to my emails. I had asked for the managers email to complain but again this has not been responded to.
I am bring charged roughly £90 to renew my tenancy for 'administration' but struggle to understand how this is justified when I have spent a considerable amount of time chasing this.
Also we were asked to provide a guarantor on the initial tenancy and have paid on time every month without fail, we again have not yet had confirmation back from the agency re the tenancy but our guarantor has been contacted.. very unprofessional

We have recently moved out of a property rented by Finders Keepers (Abingdon) and have to say we completely agree with the comments made by Gail in the previous review. Again Finders Keepers are trying to make a series of unjustfied deductions from our deposit, despite the fact that we have left the property in a significantly better state than when we moved in. I would never rent from Finders Keepers again, and certainly will never recommend them to anyone. We have just finished our tenancy, and are currently trying to get our deposit back. We have had the flat professionally cleaned (including the carpets) and it is spotless, in fact cleaner than it was when we moved in. Despite this, they are trying to find reasons to hold on to our deposit. So far we have hoovered the curtains, cleaned out an oven that was filthy when we moved in and repainted the kitchen ceiling over marks that were not made by us, but they are still delaying. They are now saying they need to do another inspection. When I complained and said we want the deposit refunded, I was told that tenants can't just make demands for whatever they like. I was astonished by the arrogance and lack of respect shown to us. Their policy seems to be to find whatever they can to extract every last penny they can from their tenants, and patronise them whilst doing so. We are currently seeking legal action to recover our deposit. In my opinion, a disgusting way for a supposedly professional agency to behave.

Shown round the property by an agent, any question was given the answer I wanted, only to find later that these were lies. For example, property advertised as 'all bills included'... however, even though each of 8 tenants has to pay £100 pcm EACH for bills, you still have to pay 50p to use the washing machine or tumble dryer (they have meter boxes attached).
Asked for 6 month contract, yet was sent paperwork for a year's tenancy... a 'mistake'. However, when coupled with a £500 fee for leaving the tenancy before the contract end, a very expensive mistake, but only expensive for the tenant.
Agreed to 6 month contract, yet got a six month minus one day contract because they are not open on a Sunday.
All this on top of quite a hefty 'admin' fee.
Property management responsibility of the Landlord. Landlord does NOTHING when requested. Complaints about the internet, which is paid for in the utility charge, basically ignored for months. 8 people in one house, yet only one recycling wheelie bin and one waste wheelie bin. Rubbish outside the house a growing concern.
Basically the standard Oxford rental situation... letting agents and landlords do not care and have no intention of actually making an effort simply because it's Oxfordshire and there's always another mug waiting to be ripped off.
Dreadful all round.
