Worst letting agent in Edinburgh.
Had a number of property's interested in. Single handedly lost £1000's of rent for your clients by never answering your phone or returning calls and emails. Had a viewing booked after weeks of being ignored only to have to show up at your physical office. I received no confirmation on morning, and could not get hold of anyone to confirm either. We had 23 properties we wanted, but now will never use you again. I will never recommend you to anyone looking to rent or sell.

Potential renters here. An interesting property came up - the most expensive one they are listing - and so I made contact through their website. 2 days later I heard nothing, so I phoned. The phone wasn't answered for 20 minutes, and when it was, I was told that DJ Alexander did no viewings after 5pm midweek, and none at weekends.
The only time I was offered was 1pm midweek 4 days in the future, with the caveat that DJA would phone back to confirm. My wife and I shuffled our work diaries to make this work, but no confirmation phone call arrived. On the morning of the arranged viewing I called DJA again, waited for the phone to be answered for 20 mins, which it wasn't. I gave up and left a message explaining we had booked a viewing, but were yet to receive confirmation of booking and address.
We are now 4 days past the viewing and as of now, are still yet to receive any communication from DJ Alexander and the property is still showing as available. As a landlord myself, I would be livid if I knew potential tenants were being treated like this. As a potential tenant, I don't see that I would bother to go view any that were being marketed by DJ Alexander.

Terrible. They asked me to send all my personal documents before to agree to let me visit the flat. We scheduled the appointment and I had to take time off work for that. Excellent service from all the staff. It is actually our son who is the landlord but as he is in London we have been doing all the work on the flat and liaising with the staff from D.J. Excellent service from all the staff. It is actually our son who is the landlord but as he is in London we have been doing all the work on the flat and liaising with the staff from D.J. Alexander on various matters. We have rented out flats and houses ourselves in different parts of the country for many years through various agents so we are pretty conversant with property agents. I have to say that the staff in D.J. Alexander are amongst the best we have met in terms of efficiency, quick responses to queries, help with finding tradesmen to do work as we don't live in Edinburgh so had no knowledge and just general pleasantness.

I own a rental property in Edinburgh and not living locally, I needed to appoint an agent to manage the property for me. DJA have been first class to deal with and always kept me in the picture and responded promptly to emails. I've rented in various areas around Scotland but I have to say the service provided by DJ Alexander, in particular Laura McTaggart, has been excellent. Any questions were answered promptly and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend to anyone. Looking forward to moving in to my new apartment this weekend.
