Letting from Db Roberts has been a terrible experience. Staff are rude and incompetent. Any issues with the property took weeks to be looked at and repeated phone calls only for them to not fix issues correctly. I had two inspections and named several issues only for them to say "oh the landlord doesn't want to pay to have the work done". Finally after having a leaking boiler for three weeks without them coming to fix it(and I mean seriously leaking) I decided to leave and then find out, the landlord wants to keep the whole deposit to fix issues that had been reported repeatedly (monthly at a minimum). Save yourself a lot of hassle and use a different letting company.

I am currently a tenant in a house managed my DB Roberts. When I first moved in three and a half years ago I found the staff friendly & helpful, Totally the opposite now I'm afraid. I have regular inspections and I bring up the same issues every time, I phone the office and I'm told they will get in touch with the landlord then get back to me but this never happens. Their tone of voice whilst talking to me is very standoffish I find. My tenancy is now up for renewal and they tell me it will cost £96 to renew the tenancy agreement for 24 months. Where do they get this figure from as no one in the office can justify it to me. I am very tempted to get in touch with the land lord myself to tell him of the issues I have with the agents. I think a staff overhall or extra training is well overdue.

What agent could do to change your mind?
Better communication! Stop having viewings that overlap and make sure the staff showing a possible tenant around a property aware if an offer is already on the table.

I saw a property on Rightmove it was a detached property in St Georges part of Telford. I'd arrange to go and look at the property one afternoon taking time off work to do so. I arrived at the property to find someone else looking around the property. By the end of my first visit I made it clear that I was interested in the property and was told what I had to do. I promptyl went home to get the necessary paper work and back to work to get proof of income. Upon my arrival in the Oakengates office I was helped by a very extremely friendly lady. Having filled in the details. I left and wanted to have a second viewing this was arranged, so I was told. The following day I arrived at the property and luckily for me the same lady who showed me round the previous day was there showing other people around. This didn't bother me as she had explained to the people viewing the property an offer was already in. She had no record of my appointment. A few days past and I had a phone call from DB Roberts saying they had already been an offer in on the property. At no point had I been informed of this. I'm also amazed that people were being shown around when other people had turned up for viewings. Although the people I dealt with at DB Roberts were very nice and pleasant. I felt as though the right hand didn't know what the left one was doing.

The rudest man answered the phone today. Not very helpful and sniggered down the phone. I feel in this environment and way of the world right now you need to focus on your customers and how you come...
