This lettings Agent Lets properties out in horrendous and often (as in my case in particular) uninhabitable living conditions, and has the audacity to charge you over the odds for the privelage, please beware of Stefan, and his goons who never carry out repairs and the rest of his incompetent maintenance people, they are honestly about as professional as an ashtray on a motorbike with about the same level of intelligence, place was running alive with an infestation and that was when I moved in !!!!!, as if that wasnt hazardous enough there were and no doubt continues to be countless other problems I endured over the years, so please be careful, and opt to go somewhere else, if I can spare somebody else some of the utter frustrations I encountered with them then I am very happy to do so, I am in a much better home now and thank goodness for that, worst experience of my life was renting from contempo lettings, who for the most part nobody had ever heard of when I went the legal route!!!!!!, so, In a nutshell, BEWARE, enter at your peril !!!!!!

Would not reply for weeks to basic emails when moving in. Would not reply for weeks to basic emails when moving in.
When told about a leak in the bathroom said he would send someone and never did, then when we moved out claimed our deposit back because the bathroom was damp.
When we arrived the flat was filthy, carpets coated with dog hair that took months to hoover up and the fridge freezer full of mould, the place stunk of smoke.
Claimed £90 for a cleaner when we moved out and said he was 'thoroughly disappointed' even though we left the flat in a far superior condition than we left it, and said we were lucky that it wasn't £180. To clean an oven.

After using Contempo property for over 5 years (and continuing) the service has been faultless. Quick at paying, notifying me of necessary repairs and carrying them out to ensure the tennant is happy and ensuring the property remains in good condition. I would not use this agent again and indeed would warn other Landlords to avoid them. Flat left damaged & with large rent arrears....The arrears was only informed to me on collecting keys....company just apologise & don't even clean at end! Flat left damaged & with large rent arrears....The arrears was only informed to me on collecting keys....company just apologise & don't even clean at end!
Write to me for full 'horror' story before every considering these agents / franchise.
They are not registered to any reputable letting organisations.

Horrible Agent fees. They must work on a commission based on how much they can illegitimately charge their tenants for. They are very good at stealing your money.

I can only surmise that the rest of the unfortunate people who have experienced Contempo are still too angry / annoyed / scarred / deflated to think back to what will only have been a horrible, horrible experience.
Like all other reviews I've read, Contempo really enjoy leasing properties in disgusting condition and stealing your money to clean them - before and after your tenancy.
There must be no internal communication structure, instead your emails are passed through a screening machine with the following two options: 'ignore outright' and 'try and charge them for it'. This machine tailors every message to be as rude and condescending as possible.
Contempo property are a disgrace to their profession - viewed upon by their tenants and the wider community of estate agents (I've asked around and Contempo are considered beyond a joke!)

Having managed my property for a few years, I returned to my property after the end of the tenancy, to find property was dirty, damaged, items missing, utilities in arrears and best of all only AFTER check out was I told my rent was 5 months in arrears!!
The agents advised....'this is unfortunate' & 'perhaps our communications could have been better'
When asked why they were not a 'transparent Agent' with All Agents they advise it would 'cost them money'! I suspect they know, it would just lead to more complaints, which would cost them clients.

What agent could do to change your mind?
All we want is our deposit back which was agreed - we\'ve already been deducted £800 and we\'re happy with the deductions (although potentially heavy-handed) in order to receive the £1000 owed.

We were with the landlord and Contempo for at least 2 years. Contempo's excuse is they cannot get in touch with the landlord - yet they are willing to help sell his house on his behalf. They are also unwilling to give us the details of our landlord (who now lives in America) for us to pursue him. Contempo are willing to do business with landlords who break the law so they can make some commission, and have made no effort to ensure our deposit was part of the protected deposit scheme - again putting their tenants last before their clientele. They have been difficult to contact and never proactively contacted us. Disgraceful service.

I have a bad experience. Stefan seemed fine when I viewed the flat, which was in a poor state when viewed. Although he was not the landlord, I was not allowed any contact details for the official landlord and therefore he was the only person I could deal with, he said I could have sub-letters as long as I didn't tell him. The first incident was the boiler breaking. After eventually getting to the emergency number it took 2 days to get the boiler fixed. After that the heating broke. In all it took 3 months to get this fixed. November through to January. He only stepped up when I refused to pay rent as it was no longer stable living conditions in the flat. Stefan didn't bother to say there was a new tenant for council tax and therefore I got a fine. To end I didn't get a penny of my deposit back. Contempo lettings is a poor excuse for an agency and have absolutely no regard for their tenants. Stefan is a disgraceful landlord and a vile man. DO NOT USE THIS AGENCY!
