Unfortunately there is no option to leave no stars. Our experience with Connells Estate Agency has been disappointing and frustrating. Despite choosing to seel our house with them due to their familiarity, we encountered poor communication and unprofessionalism throughout the process. From inaccurate advice provided by their mortgage advisor which led to delays and unnecessary stress and wasting money on our part, to feeling pressured to accept offers from investors, it became clear that our interests as clients were not prioritised. Despite assurances, the agency failed to address our concerns effectively, leaving us with a lack of confidence in their reliability and credibility. Overall, if you want to have a stress free, professional sale DO NOT choose Connells to present your home to the market!

If you are selling through Connells, this is how they treat your potential buyers - beware! They then sent me a link via email to complete there survey, the link goes to a page not found. Connells basingstoke are EXCELLENT. After being on the market with another estate agent for 10 months we had no luck with selling our property. They did not comunicate well and didnt really take an intrest so we decided to switch over to Connells. Best decision we ever made. We went into the branch on the saturday and the following Tuesday we had Mike come to evaluate. He was fab! Went through everything we needed and was ready to be put on the market. Before it even reached online, we had a viewing as they recomended this to a buyer they had. He come and viewed the same day and then put an offer in the same day too! After all those months of not getting anywhere, we finally had everything fall into place. The staff at Connells are fab and i couldnt recomend them enough, they are so helpful and always return my calls very quickly. I would recommend them 100% and cant thank them enough for everything they have done to help sell our property.

I am a landlord, connells 'fully' managed a property of mine and I shall never use them again. Overall my experience with connells has been nothing short of exasperating. I had to chase ALOT. The phone never seemed to be manned and unbeknown to me when agreeing to let them manage, that actually the staff in the Basingstoke office wouldn't be managing it, random people in a Cardiff and later in a northern office whom I'd never met managed it from a distance. The assigned property manager kept changing and I was never informed whom exactly I should be speaking to when I needed to contact them. Again these long distance offices never seemed to answer their phones. Messages from the tenant or contractor never reached me or if they did it was a Chinese whispers version so I ended up dealing directly with the tenant or contractor, what I was paying for over 12 months I don't know.....especially at the end of the tenancy connells refused to deal with the tenants deposit, I had to liaise and negotiate issues with the tenant and confirm the amount of damages and balance to be returned, all connells did was action the return of the deposit and this required chasing from me and the tenant for our money!!! Absolutely useless and when paying for a fully managed service you'd expect the stress to be taken from your hands but in fact it was connells causing the stress, would have been easier and cheaper to manage myself. It's not just tenants feeling the pain from these estate agents, trust me good landlords are equally frustrated!!!! I have used other agents in Basingstoke and connells are by far the worst, if thinking of using to manage your property, don't and avoid....I can highly recommend Martin & co, property explorer and Romans, managed on site by staff who go out of their way to help, and don't find anything too much trouble; a much nicer experience for both myself and my tenants.

The fees are the only thing they’re interested in, as soon as they’ve got the fees they do not give a shit
When my wife and I were looking for a house to buy, Connells phoned me at least 4 times a week without fail with new properties and asking if we'd like to view another property, we also had signed up to other estate agents so we were looking at lots of houses, I'm just upset that the house we wanted to buy was on the books with Connells, if idve known what I know now, we wouldn't have bothered, phone call after phone call from them right up until the point our offer was accepted on our soon to be house, the calls stopped instantly and we had to battle to get anything from them, we organised a meeting with their financial adviser (compulsory) to see if they can get a better deal for you, our appointment was at 10am at the Beggarwood branch, so at 10:55am we finally got in the car and left after he didn't show up, even though after chasing him with phone calls and speaking to other branches from 10:10am onwards, he was only â10 minutes awayâ complete waste of an hour of our lives on a Saturday, finally Re Booked with a different advisor in the main branch in town centre which went well, we did in fact get a better mortgage through Linda than we did by searching ourselves. The next stage after accepting the mortgage was just us waiting for the solicitors to do their thing, now as this is the second time buying a house I kind of knew what to expect, so after 2 weeks of absolutely no communication from Connells, no emails no phone calls, I called up for an update, 'Thabks for calling Connells, the person looking after your case is unfortunately out of the office, can I take your name and number and get them to give you a call when they're back in?' That was the response I got 12 times over 2 successive days, without a return phone call, so on the next day I called head office and let them have it both barrels, would you believe it, 13 minutes later I get a phone call from Connells offering me an update?!? I then used this tactic of phoning head office more because after this first time I still couldn't get to speak to any one or get anyone To ring me back unless I called head office and kicked off!! Myself and my wife are in the home we wanted, but at a great cost to our mental well being, Connells stressed us out, I will never, ever, ever use Connells again, and I strongly advise any house buyer not to use them, unfortunately I had to give Connells 1 star, I didn't want to give them that but I couldn't just least it blank by all accounts, so the real score is 0 stars out of 5, so if it was out of 10 stars it would be 0 stars out of 10 etc etc, the absolute dregs of the estate agent world.

I am a mother of a two children under the age of four. I work full time for in a job that is quite demanding and requires me to travel nationally regularly. After having my children I was diagnosed with post natal anxiety disorder and then severe anxiety disorder. With this in mind after professional advice we have decided to relocate our family from Basingstoke to Portsmouth where we have extended family, to help with my support network. My husband also works full time and has been working in Havant in Portsmouth since August to help us on our way to our move.
On 11th June the Branch Manager of Connells Basingstoke attended our home. The appointment was his last of the day and we understood that. Our 3 year old and 1 year old were in the room with us. This added urgency to the appointment and we felt Michael rushed through the detail of the contract we ending in signing. The Basingstoke Branch had recently sold the property opposite us in our road. Michael was extremely confident that he would be able to sell our property quickly. He understood our challenging situation as a family and appeared to sympathise with this. We asked him if he had interested buyers considering he had just sold the house across the road to which he said yes. He convinced us to purchase the premium marketing package. He sold this to us by telling us that we needed an EPC which was going to cost us anyway and that it was worth it for the professional photographs we would receive as a part of this package. We have since found out we don't need a new EPC and Michael himself has discredited the photographs by telling us he would like to come to the property and take the photographs himself.
Along the way Connells told us they would contact me on a number of occasions when they haven't and I have had to chase. Along with this they reduced our property by 10K without our permission. They then accidentally put our property on the market for £3500000.
We had on average one viewing a week. At one point we went almost a month without a single viewing. We did not receive a single offer through on our property, even though we made it clear to Connells that we are open to offers. I lost many houses that we made offers on during this time we were on the market with Connells.
Although we signed up to a 26 week sole agency contract this was not mentioned when we discussed the contract and we over looked it. I needed to apply for my daughters 1st School year placement between November and January and explained that since they had not been able to sell the property and were no longer getting viewings through the door I needed to look at different options. Because we were in contract with Connells until January they explained that we would be liable to fees should we sell our house in another way. Even through Connells were miserably failing. Even though they didn't explain the process to us in full. Even though I explained to them that this would mean I couldn't move to our new area and apply for my daughters school.
The process was very in humane. Do not listen to the promises of a quick sell, buyers lining up etc etc. Take your time to really find an agent that you can trust and has your best interests as a part of their business model.

I WAS ASKED TO LIE TO THE SELLER OF A HOUSE WE HAD FOUND AS ONE OF OUR BUYERS HAD WALKED AWAY. HAD VERY LITTLE FEEDBACK AND CERTAINLY EMAILS WERE VERY RARELY IF AT ALL REPLIED TOO. OUR PLANS WERE INACCURATE ON THE SITE BUT NO ONE WOULD DEAL WITH IT. WE WERE PASSED THROUGH THE WHOLE BRANCH. EVENTUALLY MY DIL HAD A EMERGENCY C SECTION, IT WAS LIFE OR DEATH, NO HUMANITY FROM THE BRANCH REGARDING NOT BEING ABLE TO HAVE VIEWINGS AND CONSEQUENTLY DUE TO A VERY SERIOUS EVENT IN OUR LIVES WE WERE FORCED TO REMOVE FROM THE MARKET AND ARE NOW TRYING TO MOVE 50 MILES AWAY TO GIVE MY FAMILY A NEW START AND THEY ARE STILL NOT ANSWERING EMAILS, PHONECALLS AND FOB YOU OFF AT THE OFFICE. THEY ARE DEVOID OF HUMAN KINDNESS AND CERTAINLY THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL BUNCH OF PEOPLE I HAVE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH.

I now have a leak from my sink and dishwasher that minus the 2 day snow days, I have been waiting a week for repair. Correspondence is non existent. Phone calls are not returned. Emails are not answered. And quite honestly I wish I had never moved!! No care for us as tenants now that we are tenants but all the care in the world until the paperwork was signed. Extremely disappointed and consequently hate the house I'm in. Considering the amount of rent that we pay each month, the way we are treated is disgusting!! Avoid this agent!!

From booking viewings without first consenting me to massively over valuating my property the whole process was incredibly stressful and thoroughly unpleasant! There were several occasions when people would be stood outside my property waiting to view, yet I had not been informed that the viewing had been arranged!
Personally I though a Connells were completely uninterested in selling my property and were possibly as relieved as me when I left to move to another Estate Agents.
