I have had none of these issues with Chancellors in Thatcham. They have done exactly what they promised, called when I asked them to & have been thoroughly professional throughout the purchase. Use this company & you will not be disappointed!

I let my flat through chancellors. From day 1 there has been problems. Each and every time iv contacted them they never admit they are at fault. They always state different sections of any agreements. Send letters to Tennant when requested not to. Fire alarm took 6 months to be replaced, no apologies. Spend more time sending repeated issues,then have to explain to 4 to 5 different people,who still say nothing. PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE TO MANAGE A PROPERTY OR TO PURCHASE FROM THEM. Surprised they are still in the market.

Let my house with Chancellors no problems Tenant easily found. They handle everything that is where the problem starts. Let my house with Chancellors no problems Tenant easily found.
They handle everything that is where the problem starts.
Their maintenance department is terrible they send out their contractors to diagnose faults and carry out repairs. Three times to diagnose one fault 3 lots of costs and parts supplied. If the contractor worked for you we would not pay them. They do because it is our money and they receive commission from the Contractor. Do not use them find someone else who is more capable and have better morals than ripping their landlords off which is such a short term gain as no one stays with them.

Giles Mitchell of Chancellors in Thatcham was very help and went out of his way to help arrange flexible viewing times to suit our needs. Eventually we managed to secure a property and we began working through paperwork/exchange. At this point we were put in touch with a Senior SST Consultant, Lianne Johnson (Bracknell), who continually prompted both sides to make sure the exchange went through and get everything sorted. Lianne felt like a lifesaver! Where solicitors were being non responsive and uncooperative I felt that Lianne was always working with us to help the sale go through.

What agent could do to change your mind?
If they had of supported us, made suggestions for other properties, not been sarcastic, blunt and antagonistic. We\'re cash buyers for god sake. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM CHANCELLORS!!!!

The house I was buying had been advertised through Chancellors as well as another agent. I bought through the other agent.
Having moved in I went out to the shops one day and arrived home to find one of Chancellor's agents in my lounge showing prospective buyers round. I pointed out that i had already bought it and asked for the keys. I was informed I hadn't bought it through them and as far as they were concerned it was still for sale. I took the keys off him and threw him out then went and replaced all the locks.
The people who sold the property to me had repeatedly phoned and written to them asking them to remove it from their list. They had also requested the return of historic documents for the property which have never been found.
Two weeks later I walked past their window to find my house still being advertised for sale. Marched into their window, removed the photo, removed all the sale details from the rack and gave them merry hell. No apology, not even an acknowledgement that they were in the wrong, they just stood there and looked at me.
A couple of years later a neighbour emigrated and put their property with them to rent. I was constantly finding the front door left wide open and the back door left unlocked. Nobody was interested.
I wouldn't use these people if they were the last agent on earth!

Appalling from start to finish, sadly there isn't the option of ‘awarding' no stars on here, rest assured I'd use this option given the opportunity!
We have recently completed on a house purchase through Chancellors in Thatcham, Berkshire and can honestly say that we've never encountered such incompetency throughout our house buying and selling years. In the early stages, contact levels were reasonable; however their delay in processing our offer and the advice to avid stamp duty by offering a ridiculous amount of money for ‘fixtures and fittings' was awful.
We have since found out that no solicitor will agree to fixtures and fittings contributions of this level any more as it is of course, in effect tax evasion. Continual lies from their teenage sales ‘team' and a tendency to ignore calls, emails and even letters left us feeling ignored, undervalued and very much ‘out of the loop'. Particularly avoid Chris in the Thatcham office as his lies and avoidance of any discussion regarding the sale left us far from impressed. When parting with so much money, and knowing their extortionate selling fees, we felt that more consideration to our situation and that of the seller might have been employed.
I urge anyone looking to either sell or buy through this tinpot organisation to steer well clear. There are much better estate agents locally, one of whom I had the pleasure of dealing with when selling our own property, thankfully there is hope for the rest of us knowing that not all estate agents are the same as Chancellors!!
