We travelled to view a property in Powys, via Chancellors in Kington, Wales. We we were travelling from Leicester, so it was long journey, but we set out because the property looked so good online. When we got there, the agent could not get us in because the key did not work. She phoned the owner 10 times, but got no response and continued to force the door. We got very worried about the poor door! We walked around the property, in the meantime, and were shocked to discover, by peering through the shoddy broken window frames and damaged patio door, that the property bore no relation at all to the lavish pictures featured online. We did not get in, and had to make the long journey home with nothing. My elderly husband was also ill on the way back. I complained to the agent, because they should have planned for this in advance. They knew the property and this had clearly happened before - from the expression on the agent's face. But still, they did not take any steps to help a potential customer. We were treated very shoddily.
We asked, simply, to have our petrol money refunded, but we were refused.
We feel like we have been mugged.
Chancellors has certainly made it clear to us that the customer is always wrong.
