Comments on Agent Fees
No comment on this - if we had paid them believe me, I would be seeking legal advice.
We engaged Campsie based on two meetings with one of their representations. In our final meeting, when we were signing the contract, she explained she was leaving the company but would handover to another member of staff who would contact us immediately. No contact was made. I tried to get in touch with Campsie, but got no call backs until finally the MD emailed me, forwarding an email we had sent from the previous year and asking if any progress had been made! I explained that yes, we had signed a contract, and yes they were supposed to be taking over our management! He then stalled for several weeks, after which time he allocated a member of staff who had apparently left the company and rejoined (for reasons we do not know) and cited that as why he couldn't respond to us ... and he assumed we completely understood. I said no, I do not understand why that precluded you responding to emails and phone calls, and more than that, it makes me very uncomfortable having someone assigned to us who left the company and returned ... when we do not know the reason behind their leaving. We got to a point where it was clear our original contact had not told the company anything about what our priorities were, and if she had, they had completely mislaid all information. They were incredibly unhelpful, but the MD very good at giving a salesman pitch whenever I managed to get him on the phone. We finally agreed to move to another agency, and the handover Campsie have provided is appalling. They have basically not opened any files, not dealt with anything, so now we have service charges bouncing back and invoices unpaid. A complete nightmare and one I feel we were completely hoodwinked into. Appalling in every sense of the word. I will send this complaint to the Property Ombudsman when I have time to deal with this, which has taken up so much of my time already.

Campsie were appointed as Managing Agents of our estate on 01 February 2012. From that date all I have received from them are threats to curtail my right to rent my property should I not immediately rectify our tenants' breach of the rules. I am now in the process of selling my property and they refuse to supply the necessary documentation so that my buyer can become a Member of our management company. Their arrogance, unprofessionalism and non-acceptance of their responsibilities as managing agents is unbelievable. Do not use them to manage your estate. I will be buying further properties but not where Campsie is the managing agent
