Renting from Black Grace Cowley was easily the worst experience I've had in three decades as a tenant. Requests for maintenance and repairs took months and multiple contacts via phone, text and email,and staff were rude, unhelpful and salivating at any opportunity to get out of doing the bare minimum of their job as agents. Absolutely disgusting. I prefer long term multi-year rentals but moved on after only eighteen months because of Black Grace Cowley and their appalling standard of service and the behaviour of their staff.

We were long-term renters who decided to leave our Black Grace Cowley property after a raft of unacceptable responses from them regarding a washing machine repair.
We had three weeks to go on our lease with them, and were in the process of moving into our new home, when we received a call from Black Grace Cowley complaining about the state we had left the place in as it was unsuitable to show to prospective new tenants.
We pointed out that we had paid our rent up to the period of the lease expiration, that we were still living there, and that they had not notified us that they would be intruding into our private living space, which we had FULLY PAID UP, and had just let themselves in.
The response of Black Grace Cowley's rude and intrusive employee? "Oh." No apology, no explanation.
Renters beware. Black Grace Cowley will access your property without your awareness or consent when it suits them, and fail to show up for scheduled maintenance appointments that you've taken time off work for.

When we explained that, due to them not getting back in touch about a renewal at the eight, six and four week mark, we had signed elsewhere, the letting agent passive-aggressively pouted over the fact that her incompetence had cost the company a six-year tenant, whining that "some notice to market the flat would have been nice."

if Rachel has actually done her job, she wouldn't have needed to market the flat, since we would have signed on for another year. Lucky escape.

During this replacement, they failed to connect the waste pipe at the back of the shower and ignored us for a following four months while we tried to get it fixed.The
When they finally did come 'round to look at it, the letting agent they sent blamed the damp in the bathroom caused by a four-month leak was due to us using the washing machine to do laundry.

Black Grace Cowley are incompetent to the point of malice. Do not use.
