They asked for a very big amount of money initially and it wasn't very clear what for, and then keep asking for more money (£60) every 6 months to renew the contract.

I would never use them again! Summary: high (hidden) fees, poor service. They will charge you an inventory fee, when you move in, check out fee, when you move out (£60-80 each), you have to pay £60 in each 6 month to renew your tenancy agreement. Of course you have to pay referencing fees upfront ... Read Full Review
Clearly state its fees upfront
Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
