Beware of using Andrew's to buy/sell!
Due to the poor standard of service and lack of communication we were not told of 2 unresolved boundary disputes that affected the sale of a property we had made an offer on. This caused a delay of nearly 7 months before we were forced to withdraw from the purchase due to the behaviour of Andrew's staff and management as well as the sellers attitude as they were constantly told it was not an issue by andrews.
Andrew's later admitted to being aware of the boundary disputes when the property had been originally listed.
You cannot complete and have the deeds transferred to your name or even get a mortgage on a property with unresolved boundary disputes - Andrew's you should know better! Being repeatedly lied to is not an appropriate form of service!
We would not have proceeded to order surveys and searches and instruct solicitors had we known when we made our offer. This entire debacle has cost us nearly £1k in fees. We were offered a mere £250 as compensation for 7 wasted months and £1k of wasted money.
We were constantly told it was not an issue and it was repeatedly minimised which dragged the process out.
Despite making a complaint to management and escalating through the complaints process to head office we have had no appropriate resolution.

In contrast, Lorraine Banbury the Sales Co-ordinator was always optimistic, cheerful and very helpful in providing updates on progress within the chain from acceptance of the offer up to completion.

We always seemed to be the last link in the chain to find things out eg. proposed exchange/completion dates. And our buyers started making threats to pull out of the sale when we hadn't exchanged contracts 10-11 weeks after their offer was accepted, even though we were in a long chain. So either they were given unrealistic expectations of how long it would take, or their expectations weren't managed very well.

I dealt with Steph, Jim, and Lorraine at the Westbury On Trym branch in Bristol....
The service they gave me was always exceptional. They responded to my queries promptly, and if they promised to get back to me then they always did.
I even found out that I had completed from them before my solicitor had informed me!
I would definitely recommend them to anybody, and would definitely use them in the future.

We contacted Andrews as we had bought our house originally from them seven years ago and remembered them being helpful and efficient. We're glad that we sold our house through them as Matthew was professional and proactive and sold our house within a fortnight. He made really sensible suggestions as to how to show our house at its best and always gave plenty of warning before viewings. He also kept us regularly updated and recommended a solicitor that we are now using and very happy with.

I've used this branch in my hunt for the perfect house. We have used Andrews as they are honest, customer orientated and very helpful in all aspects of selling a property, we have been selling during a difficult time and it has made the whole process easier for us. The communication is excellent, even if there is no real information or positive information we still always had a call on the time stated by either Matthew or Jim. They take time at the start if the process to go through all the small print and to explain how the process will work. Out of the agents in the area I wuld definately recommend Andrews over the rest.
